The official what did you think of Hannibal thread <--- spoilers (probably)

I thought it was good, I had heard a mix of things, some people said it was supposed to be good, some people said is was gonna be crap. Personally I didn't think it was as good as Silence of the Lambs, but it did justice to the series. The gore factor was way up, especially in the ending, luckily it looked just fake enough to keep anyone in the theater from vomitting (I liked it ).

I didn't mind the ending as much as my friends, I think that it made perfect sense what Hannibal did, although I'm still not sure how he escaped from the summer house. I think the beginning was a little drawn out and the part where Hannibal was in the US was a little short personally, but I really liked the beginning so no complaints here. I really liked the intuitive ways he killed people, always makes you think

I saw : &quot;O Brother, Where Art Thou&quot; which was quite excellent. Lot of people were at the theateres for Hannibal though...

did anyone read the book? I actually read most of it while i was in Italy as soon as it came out last spring. Never did get a chance to see florence though


the ending in teh book and the ending in the movie i hear are completly different.

as it should, cuz in the book there is no room for a sequel (hehe almost a spoiler) however in the movie they let a few things slide, allowing for the dynamic duo to yet once again grace the silver screen

Good thing I ate BEFORE seeing this. Otherwise, I would have not eaten anything for MONTHS!!!!!! :Q

Seriously, it was good but these kind of movies are not my thing. I just went and seen it with my buddies.

Just got back a little while ago from seeing it. I agree that the gore factor was a bit much. I know one thing, I will never have sweetbreads and scrambled eggs again (not that I ever cared for them that much anyway ...). I cast my vote for &quot;Not as good as SOTL but it was OK&quot;.

THELAIR: You were in Italy and didn't go to Florence? If you could've only visited one city, that should have been it. You must go back if possible.

I just got back from watching it and I was very grossed out. I can't believe they actually showed that one part(don't want to ruin it for people that haven't seen it). It was hilarious yet I ate right before the movie and I seriously had the urge to let my dinner out. I like Silence of the Lambs much better though.

I read the book a while back (it was aweful), and then I watched the movie last night.... While the movie wasn't nearly as bad as the book (Anthony Hopkins rocks), it still pretty much sucked. Yeah yeah, there's some shock value in the gory details, but the plot and storyline follow the book outline to a tee, and it sucked.

I thought it was pretty good. Not nearly the caliber that SOTL was, but neither was the book. The gore didn't bother me, but I would've preferred that it was more &quot;hidden&quot; like in SOTL. It's actually creepier that way.

and if it wasnt for the italian train service going on strike as soon as i arrived, i would have visited florence, however it was the last leg of my trip and I HAD to be in rome to catch my flight.
