Sony did the same thing. They spent 90% of their's showing nothing but crap then at the end said the launch date.

Yeah the show pretty much sucked. They should have shown new games, more tech info, something else.

alright this upload studio thing actually looks really neat if you are into that kind of stuff. it will be pretty awesome for killer instinct if someone does a huge combo they talks about how they did it.

I'm kind of surprised that you've never heard of Project Spark before. They showed it off at the last event with the whole crafting a world, scripting objects, etc. I think it looks nifty, but it's probably not something that I would spend a lot of time with.

Though I am all ears on what the community can make w/ Spark, I think it's not as versatile as Minecraft in that you can make a ton of weird or different crap on it. where as spark, it's basically just a top down RPG/RTS and there will prob. only be different maps/terrain.

Not sure why everybody is clamoring for a release date, we'll get it in due time. I also never understood the whole press conference thing either. Microsoft still had one, they just didn't stream it. Bad for the few thousand gamers who would watch but the press still got what they needed.

ive heard of it it just look like a game creator, which i thought it couldn't be because most people buy consoles to play games not make them, and today i think they reaffirmed that it's just a game creator and looks like something that i'm totally not interested in.

Well they are probably waiting on PAX now that i think about it. A release date gives kinda a deadline for everyone that preordered hey this is the day. I think it will be a week before the PS4 bc its the same day as COD Ghosts.

I think MS was trying to wait out Sony so they could release before. Sony probably was trying the same thing, but ended up giving the date first anyway.

I watched the 15-minutes video posted before and I think it's looks very intriguing. I won't be creating games, not my style, but I'd like playing other people's creations. I'm assuming you can download others' games.

Maybe. It all depends on how it is implemented and how limiting the creation is. Look at Dota. That was a WC3 custom map and it is a completely different game. I am not expecting a Dota clone coming from Spark, but I imagine someone creative enough could do something decently fun.


Another example I could think of is the custom maps in Trials Evolution. Some of them are very creative on what you do and not in the style of the original at all.

Like said before, my answer is "maybe". We'll see. Every game gets boring eventually. I don't know that this would be a launch game for me, probably not, but might be a $40 pickup at some point.

it reminds me a bit of LBP, which i was pretty interested in until i actually played it.

People want a date because it sets a firm day when they can buy it. Saying November but not what day is kind of a WTF moment for me. We knew it was November before...it kind of makes me feel like they have no clue what is going on with production or something. Not that I am really worried but if they came out and said November 5 or whatever it would show a a solid release plan. Plus there are people with a lot of money floating out there without a confirmed date as to when we can get a product.

Yeah, but there are people on the fence that can only afford one I'm sure. And the first one that comes out will likely be the one they try and get. It is strange they haven't said an official date, but I imagine there is one of 2 things going on: 1. Their date was weeks behind Sony (end of Nov) and they are scrambling to try and get it on that same day or 2. Their date was the same as Sony and they are scrambling to get it ahead of them by a week and not sure if they can make it or not, so they aren't committing to anything.

well there had to be some reason amazon picked nov 27th as their estimated release date. if they had absolutely no clue, it would have been 12/31 like the ps4.

Yeah, racing wheels are a big deal. People were complaining about that not having pedals to shift. But since it was based on a Ferrari that doesn't have a clutch pedal and uses the paddles, it is accurate.

Some of the makers of the big sellers were talking about a conversion kit for the current models. Sadly, no matter how good you are with a clutch peddle, you'll never be as good as me on Forza 4 with a controller. The clutch modeling, for some reason, gave a distinct advantage to people using a controller for the clutch over anything else (being able to hit the clutch and up / down shift button at the same time made you have 0 clutch engaged time).
