Well, then I don't know why people are such worrywarts in this thread just earlier today over being unable to use their USB drive on the X1 since you'll obviously need a separate profile.

what? you can have more than 1 profile on the hdd.

i'm specifically talking about its been known for months that you can use the same account on a 360 and x1 at the same time. not sure what that has to do with usb at all.

Microsoft has just announced their Global release dates for the few global territories that will be getting the console this year.

The Xbox One will be releasing on the 22nd of November for all of the 13 release territories, including the US and the UK

Those speeds aren't impressive and it probably gives no real tangible benefit to the end user. The speed bumps are welcome but I doubt it means anything really.

I am just happy I get a week to mess with the ps4 before getting my xb1.

I would buy one too if it didn't come with kinnect. I only have one tv so it wouldn't be fun switching between ps4 and Xbox.

You can only play one at a time anyway lol. I will be so busy with all these games though.

Yea I wish I had more time to be busy with games rather than work or other things. I feel so relaxed when I have a day off to sit at home and go through a few levels of a game I enjoy. The same old grind, up super early, work, home late, visit family or gf , sleep, work...gets boring quick.

When I had more PTO I would take off on certain days and not tell anyone and just do what I wanted that day, felt refreshing. I think I may take off Nov 15th and do the same thing.

Just realized... Legend of Zelda: link Between Worlds on 3DS comes out on November 22 too. Damn it lol

So now I guess I gotta hold on to Zelda until I finish some of the games I will be getting in November. Maybe just set Zelda aside until Christmas.

Or the kids can play on both the 360 and the Xbone at the same time on a single account. That's a good thing.

The use case will probably lean more towards someone using Netflix on the 360 while someone plays on the Xbox One in another room.

10% of 800mhz is only 80mhz. 80mhz changes nothing. Not saying it was 800mhz because I don't know but it isn't going to be a huge performance jump.
- If the new Porsche 911 is engineered to have +10% performance, that's significant.
- If a new style baseball bat allows players to hit the ball 10% further, that's significant.
- If the new PC video card drivers produce a 10% gain in frame rates, that's significant.

10% is significant, especially when talking about leading edge products. Incredible amounts of resources are used to engineer a lot of things to be a fraction of 10% more efficient.

I guarantee it won't change the games at all.

Just don't be surprised when this speed bump doesn't suddenly make all the games run different or look different.

so then what will it change?

i mean there is a physical change that allows it to do faster processes, so it's going to change SOMETHING. otherwise there would be 0 benefit of doing it. anyone who has ever done overclocking of their own PC knows that it does change the way games are ran.

Even though it's completely absurd to make that claim, since you really have no idea... Would you say the same thing if they decreased the speed by 10%?

Apparently dredd knows more than the engineers at AMD and MS.

The games are already coded on a specific feature set for those that are pretty far along in development. That is what I am saying.

You know that consoles dont scale up or down like that. Your experience on day one will be the same as it would have been.

What is going to happen is games developer on units with the old CPU speed (developer boxes) won't see any change in performance except maybe less heat on the new CPU speed. Newer developed games will take advantage of the increase, but will still run at x res @ 60/30 FPS. This isn't going to magically make games that were previously 720p able to run at 1080p now, unless there were really, really close before and it was a CPU bound issue holding them back.

That would have a huge impact. Most, if not all, games currently in development that are close to coming out would have to be delayed. They wouldn't be able to hit their target with a slower CPU, since they are coding for that specific CPU. The increase will only effect new games or games not far along in development that can still be tweaked.
