I don't watch football much anymore but if they could do similar stuff for hockey or basketball that'd be cool.

I bet if MS had the hw edge it would be a different story

Well sure it would, but I have to agree with him.

The way I see it, if I play the PS4 at a friend's house and then come home to my X1 and can't see an immediate difference in graphics, then I don't care. If I have to look at side-by-side screenshots and zoom in to see a difference, then I don't care.

What have we been saying for a while? At first it won't have any differencer, later it may, with exclusives it definitely will.

I'm expecting it to be like it is right now, with the PS3 showing a bit more graphical prowess but not enough to make me care.

If anything, I hope developers quit trying to shove as much lens flare in as they can and develop the AI more this generation. Won't happen, but one can hope.

With all those cores, they could dedicate one of them just to AI if the game needs it. Obviously only good developers would try to do that anyways. Can only imagine how awesome the next Red Dead Redemption or GTA is going to be on these new systems.

they will be choppy and run like 20fps. just like gta3 did on ps2, and gta4 did on ps3/360.

Xbox always had a hardware edge over PS3....but it's all in the controller. I prefer the feel of the Xbox controller. (I have big hands)

Other than that, despite the PS3 advantages in hardware...they're rarely showcased or utilized. The problem with competition is the programming is always written for the easiest platform and ported to the other.

I can't wait to see how the 4th gen systems match up. I'm definitely going to get one of those to match whatever TV I buy for my new media room.

I preferred the 360 controller over the DualShock 3, but I've been hearing a lot of good things about the new DualShock 4. The only negative that I've heard about the One controller is that apparently the little nubs on the joysticks dig into your finger a bit too much. Frankly, I just can't wait for a better d-pad with it.

I have big hands too and I didn't have issues with the ps3 controller. I will agree the 360 controller felt more sturdy. Also a bit heavier but I'm not sure that mattered. I wish some of these stores would have display models for demos out already.

All the developer interviews and hands on info I have seen or read praises the dual shock 4 very highly. I don't have a preference in controllers that much but I did like the face buttons on the ds3 just a bit better. They seem more responsive to me.

Yeah, it seems as if the DS4 is a HUGE improvement over the DS3, which is great. I very much dislike the DS3 because it's small, feels cheap, hate the convex top of the sticks and the downward slant of the triggers. The DS4 seems to fix each of these.

yeah i feel with the DS3 that i could easily just twist the controller and crack it in half. it feels so fragile. the DS4 looks to be a big bulkier and solid, and the concave thumbsticks are awesome. i hope the triggers feel better.

now that my ps3 is YLOD'd i may end up just keeping the ps4 that i have preordered.

My big problem with the DS3 was the R2/L2 triggers. They were awful and felt a lot like a last minute "me too" decision to include triggers. Controllers have had triggers since the Dreamcast, come on Sony...

The new triggers are concave to form to your fingers a bit and have a more firm feel from what I have heard. Supposed to be very responsive and comfortable. Remember that the dual shock design was around before the Dreamcast, it is almost a 20 year old design... Sony's signature controller. The triggers were originally buttons.

The analog sticks are supposed to have a more positive resistance with less slop in the neutral position.

I would really like to feel it for myself. I know the GameStop by my house is getting an interactive but they have no idea when.

Like I said I don't have much preference between controllers. The only thing I could say is that some games seem better suited for the 360 controller, like racing games.

to me FPS were 100x better on the 360 controller than the ps3 controller. a lot of it has to do with the stupid placement of the analogs on the ps3 controller too, but the looseness of the sticks and the triggers sucking did not help at all.

The new ones are spread further apart and a lot of guys are saying the new controller rocks for fps games. I dunno, the only fps I really play on consoles are killzone and halo. I am not really the right authority on console shooters. I'll find out in about 68 days.

That's completely my complaint too. With the XB controller, you can have your left hand fully on the grip and actually move your thumb naturally in an exact forward and back motion. Its good for games like Tiger Woods where you like to push your thumb exactly forward and back. I found on the PS controller, both your thumbs are pointing inwards, and to go exactly forward and back on the left stick you're actually moving your thumb in a sideways motion. Very very uncomfortable to me, and will never be fixed if the stick stays in that location.
So unfortunately, for the sake of keeping carpal tunnel at bay, it's either the XB setup or nothing.

I know this. Which is why it seems like a half-assed "me too" inclusion. They look extremely cheap and feel the same to me. The controller itself was also much too light for my taste; even the wired 360 controller suffers from that problem though.
