I knew that before but it doesn't matter to me. The dev tools aren't final and are a little behind still. No big deal.
Well, for people like us, that's fine, we know full well that these companies are all FOS when it comes to trade show demos. It's less good when you see companies like EA claim that it's representative of final hardware, as famously done with BF4 at E3.
And the PCs they were using were almost certainly not dev kits, we had that glorious shot of a water-cooled socket 2011 system with a GTX 780 on a $500 motherboard. Probably paired up with SSDs and extreme high-end memory given those known components. All running on Windows 7, hah.
IOW, they run 'ringers' to make their stuff look far
FAR better than is actually possible with an 8-core netbook CPU with a mediocre GPU on DDR3.
It doesn't fool us, but you take the average joe, and they will not see the deception.
