Maybe you were supposed to grab a $20 XBOX Live card too, and it would end up being marked as free on your receipt?
my buddy ordered one tonight online and already got the code so now i'm wondering if it's online only or something.
Are you allowed to return your card? You could just order it for in-store pick-up, return your current card, and pick-up the new one.
im gonna use the credit to buy crimson dragon.
I might grab one because it's not a terrible deal considering it's more like paying $40, which is close enough to the usual $35 deals. I'm going to buy Killer Instinct for the X1 anyway.
I looked up Crimson Dragon, and I don't know about that game. I'd probably have the same trouble in it that I would in most FPS games on consoles -- can't hit the broad side of a barn!

Did you end up getting your $20 credit purbeast? I figure, since I am not buying the special edition of KI, to buying the day 1 XBL and using the credit for KI.
all this day1 xbl gives you is access to shadow jago, regardless of purchasing killer instinct or not. if you get this xbl and get the free killer instinct, then you can use jago and shadow jago.
as far as crimson dragon goes, it's a sequel to the awesome panzar dragoon series on saturn. it does kind of have the playstyle of the original starfox games though.
So It seems the best buy deal might be online only. I called the two closest stores to me and the managers didn't know about it and the department head didn't either. However they checked the website for me and noted that it was available on there. They did say that some promotions are only available online for whatever reason.
Edit: so I picked up my card and the guy at the pickup desk had no idea what it was. Think I sold him one lol. I walked around the store since I don't really shop best buy much and found an Xbox one display with what looks like the actual console and kinect with two holders for controllers on either side. They had no controllers and it did not look like the console was plugged in at all so it could have been a shell. It looks nice in person.
I just picked mine up as well and found the XBOX One display. Holy cow... that Kinect is HUGE. I think using the old meme "big like XBOX" is appropriate!

Lol yeah it was rather large. I have absolutely no room under my TV on my A/V rack for this so even if I wanted to try it I could not.
Also the steel "Day One Membership Card" is dumb heh. I thought maybe you'd get special offers and info by being a member, kind of like the old Playstation membership had. I remember getting to beta test the PS2 network adapter and play Socom and other titles. Then I got a network adapter free for participating. I also got emails periodically offering special deals if I bought stuff through sony. I was also in the original Xbox Live Beta, but that didn't require any type of membership to get in.

I'm also getting the PlayStation 4 camera, and I was planning on stacking the two. The Kinect would certainly make a suitable base, but I think it would be too tall. Heck, I'm not even sure if the Kinect will fit in front of my TV. My TV has a sort of hollow, rectangular-style stand and I didn't expect the room between the TV and stand to be too small; however, it might be! Mmm I didn't really expect anything from it. Most of the Day One stuff isn't terribly amazing -- depending on what you're getting. The controller only has the text and a different color d-pad, right?
so i just called best buy again about this and i got the run around again. but this time it sounds a bit more legit and the woman sounded more helpful. i gave her a reference number on my receipt and stuff and told her what i bought, and she asked me if i was asking about the $20 promo code and i said yes. she put me on hold and did some stuff for 5 mins then came back and verified my email addy 2x to be sure they had the right one, and that it would be sent within 24-48 hours. she gave me a reference number too so i guess it's in their system.
so just gonna wait to see if i get it by wednesday. i really don't wanna run to best buy again and buy it then return the current one just to get this $20 promo if i don't have to. maybe i'll get 2 emailed to me now lol.
Damn what a hassle kinda. They always do the run around thing because no one knows about everything especially the store employees. It's odd that it's easier to order online and pick the same thing up in the store just to get your code.
Hmm it seems the Killer Instinct code doesn't work yet. It's also kind of annoying that the points can only be entered on a 360. :\
