So I traded in my original fat 60GB PS3 to Amazon for $175 (more than they were going for on eBay) and had an Amazon gift account balance. I didn't want to bother either my PS4 or X1 pre-order for fear that it would get delayed, but broke down and started a support chat to ask if applying that balance to my X1 pre-order would affect my "place in line".

The chat got put behind a window while I waited for a response and I forgot about it. The support woman ended up calling me because I hadn't answered her and said that it wouldn't and she had already applied the balance to the order without confirming that's what I wanted her to do.

So for better or worse, we'll see what happens. The estimated delivery date hasn't budged but it's only been a few minutes. At least I have that money applied now, which is what I wanted in the first place.

I changed the credit card I wanted to use and the shipping address and it wasn't a problem. I got an email a few hours later saying I had been upgraded to Day One Edition and it will arrive on the 22nd (again, I had received one of these when I first placed the order as well).

If yours has backwards compatibility, you probably could've gotten around $200+ for it on eBay. I sold mine a month or two ago for about that and it was only the partial backwards compatibility one, and I didn't even have the box.

I've dealt with changing payment options quite a bit on Amazon. Will it affect your pre-order? No. Will it affect your shipping if you do it now? No. Whenever you change your payment option, Amazon runs the order back through the payment system, which does affect free release date delivery availability. In other words, if you're within three business days of the release date and your order gets resubmitted, you will lose out on free release-date delivery. However, you can get it back... if you pay the $2.99 one-day delivery charge.

The GameStop $150 PS3 included those with BC. The lady working at GameStop actually asked if that was the version I wanted when I bought mine. I opted for the newest console they had because I don't plan on playing any PS2 game ever again, and if I did, I have my PS2 still in working condition, in the original box, packed away.

I've had something happen to me where I preordered something (Starcraft 2: HotS Collector's Edition) and used a payment and address that were old and no longer valid when the game released. I got an email from Amazon the day of release and since I had removed the information from my account since had a hell of a time updating it. After calling 2 people for support (both of who suggested I cancel the order and order the item again, which was impossible) I found how to change it and got it a bit later than release day. They didn't lose my order or resell it or anything like that.

It was the original PS3 with full back-compat, but in looking through multiple options, it seemed I would be lucky to get $160 before all the fees. This was best scenario for me.

Looks like Microsoft's cloud servers will get updates frequently and restart. This can interrupt an online game using that particular server.

and it's been about 40 hours since my last call to best buy about my $20 promo card. they said i'd have it within 24-48 hours. this shit is annoying as hell that they are giving me the run around. if i don't have it tonight i'm going to call and speak to a supervisor because this is retarded that i've been told 2x i'd have it within 24 hours, then 24-48 hours after that.

I would just order online for in store pick up and return the one you bought. It will save you having to give the same story a couple more times over the phone.
