Don't let people chase you out of the thread, especially if you are a Xbox fan that is excited about the console. This thread could use more people like that.

I don't think he is being chased out of the thread. I could care less what system he gets. The issues others were having was due to the idea that Sony changed their policy, which is not true. I guess the reason for the cancellation he mentioned was due to the policy change which is not a policy change. So it made him come off, to others, as a fan boy I guess.

What's wrong with being a Xbox fan in a Xbox thread?

It could use a whole lot less anti Sony rhetoric though. I am buying an xb1 and I will defend the console. I dont think it is appropriate to have a conversation revolving around negativity toward the competition.

Back at the Xbox reveal, that's all we had in this thread. I'm guessing that a lot of people took up the negative approach to the Xbox during those days.

I have heard that Bluetooth headsets should function once the Bluetooth codes are out. It is only hearsay though.

you have a link to this?

if that is the case i'll pick up the 360 wireless headset. i'm not a fan of the "use kinect as a mic" thing either, because that means the voices of other idiots online will be coming out of my surround sound and not in a little speaker by my ear.

oh, and the fact that i can't use kinect because the cord is 9.5 feet long, that doesn't help either.

I am pretty sure you are capable of extending that cord yourself if you really wanted to. >_>

yeah i don't want it to be a hack though, i want a legit extender lol.

but you do bring up a good point, worst case scenario, i cut it in the middle somewhere and just extend it with some type of wire. i have a shitload of cat5e wire, i wonder if that stuff would work for it. i'd have to look into that.

No I dont sorry. I tried searching just now and could not find the forum post(as I said hearsay) I remember reading elsewhere. I see people mentioning WiFi direct too. Bluetooth would be so much better.

I'd imagine as long as it has enough wires inside the Cat5e (I don't know if the Kinect cord is just USB with proprietary connector or what), it should work just fine. Just have to match each wire to it's respective end.

yeah from what i heard the old one was either usb2 or usb3 with a weird connector on the end. i'd have to do more research to see if cat5e would be good enough for that. it really would only take a few minutes to make an extension lol.

USB 3 has 9 wires per port. CAT-5e only has 8 wires.

I dunno about anyone else, but when I am playing a game I cannot watch TV or read anything. I have to focus.

Depends on the game. Something like Gears or teh Haloz or a shooter, maybe an RPG game or something like Watch Dogs, I don't think I could either.

But something like GTAV or AC4, where I'm just running around the city or map doing side missions, I definitely could tune it out and watch TV or something. Or something like Forza, if you get in to an endurance race, I could watch something next to it, no problem.

when i used to game on a little monitor on my coffee table, i would watch tv and game at the same time quite often. not something that is a necesity by any means, but like if i lost in sf4 and was waiting my turn again, i'd pay attention to the tv. or if there was sports on, and a big play came on, i'd pause a game and look at the tv for a little bit.

it would be cool/neat to be able to minimize the x1 game while i'm waiting in a lobby for my turn in killer instinct and be able to just browse the net or watch some tv for a few minutes.

LOL, Yusaf drives worse than I do.

I would actually watch a football or basketball game while playing, so it seems useful to me.

Exactly. Screens are big enough these days that doing both things simultaneously would not really detract from either one.
