Same here. Maybe you will get lucky and they will open up some launch day consoles for a little bit like they did with the PS4. I may go that route so I can have it by thanksgiving weekend since I hope to be done with all my school work and will be home for the whole weekend. That or I will go to the store in town ar 11:30 and see if they will be selling them.

i would put money on killer instinct being the highest rated launch title. being a killer instinct homer aside, the game has gotten so much praise from pretty much everyone who has played it.

i just think forza is going to get a "more of the same with upgraded graphics" review. forza has less content than its previous iterations too from what i've heard. forza absolutely LOOKS great graphically though. it does have some neat new features though too.

Eh, I bet Killer Instinct is going to get hit hard for being incomplete at launch. That's the problem with reviews -- they only consider a snapshot of your game, and they pretty much have to notify the fans that the game isn't going to be complete until... did they say March 2014? I still think it'll probably easily see a 7/10 though.

If I had to guess, Ryse will probably do okay. Obviously, I haven't played it, but from what I've heard, it is still kind of fun in a God of War sort of way. My bet for worst reviewed XBOX One title is... LocoCycle. I don't think I've heard a single bit of good press for the game, and after watching a preview of it, I'm not surprised. It just looks way too repetitive.

I'm also curious how Dead Rising 3 will rate. There was the article about the framerate problems with the game, but supposedly that's mostly during scenes of crazy carnage with tons of zombies. Although, watching the previews of the game, I did notice that my enthusiasm waned quite a bit -- it just doesn't look that much fun. The weapons that I saw seemed slow and brutish, which just isn't all that interesting to me. I have a feeling that the game will mostly sell to the Walking Dead crowd as they constantly refer to the main character as Darryl.

At this point, I'm still definitely getting Forza 5 and Killer Instinct, and I'm considering Crimson Dragon.

I have a feeling that it will probably get the most praise for the graphics and Drivatar. I have heard some good press about the viability of the latter.

ah you are very right about the "incomplete" game of killer instinct. i can see that being a negative for sure and i'm sure it will be, deservedly so. however it really isn't their fault because word on the street is they would have pushed it back until it was complete, but ms was pushing for it to be a launch title. i'm sure they got a huge chunk of change for doing it how they did.

Eh, I don't know. If they review it solely on the fact that it costs $20, it may do alright.

As for the other games, I think we'll see exactly what we're expecting to see. Dead Rising will get knocked for frame rate but applauded for fun, probably hovers around a 7.5-8. Forza get applauded for graphics and hovers around 8-8.5. KI will score the highest of the bunch I think, getting 8.5-9. Ryse will sit somewhere around a 6-7.

Those are my predictions and if I were a betting man, I'd put money on each one.

Although, I think it is important to keep in mind that the game is only $20, and you do end up getting all those missing features for free once they're available. Just compare Killer Instinct for $20 to Divekick for $10. I think I'd rather pay double for Killer Instinct.

Ryse has already gotten some negative press about very shallow game play. I don't think it will score well. kI and Forza should both score above 80%.

I don't consider it selling out. MS probably told them they could have complete creative control as well as all the money they would need to follow their vision. They need another franchise as strong as Halo to push the Xbox One forward and it looks like they got it. Gotta give MS props for locking it down before the console is even released. I wonder what Sony has planned to counter it.

As to the annual franchise comment, that's just a sad truth with gaming today. If the COD franchise taught us anything, it's that company's can have extraordinary success taking the same game and swapping the textures out every year. Who can blame them when these games easily make over half a billion dollars of revenue per release? Until we as a community stop buying them, we can't expect developers to abandon a proven cash machine.

How is it funny? They left to do their own thing and be successful at it. Seems like they are on the right track and probably will make a healthy profit.
