I don't get the selling out thing either. Titanfall is the only reason I would get an Xbone.

I'm Forza'd out and never took to Halo in the first place. Titanfall is like a fun version of Mechwarrior.

How is it funny? They left to do their own thing and be successful at it. Seems like they are on the right track and probably will make a healthy profit.

If that's "selling out", what's the downside?

There is a lot of hate for EA and MS because of their ability to buy the rights to something or acquire a development team and they fall apart compared to what they once were. Money is nice and all but we are not seeing the money, we are seeing the games and the results of the financial deals. Look at what MS did to Rare for example or how Bioware has fallen in recent years. Look at how EA handles Madden. They bought the rights to make NFL games and they have been consistantly mediocre year after year. Not everything they do is bad but the companies in the games industry that get big like that often turn their back on what made them big in the first place, us.

And yet gamers still buy EA games. "It's in the game." People continue to buy Madden, NBA, etc. EA has bought and closed up a lot of good development studios. Bullfrog, Westwood Studios, etc.

But it's ridiculous to be slinging crap at the Titanfall developers, when nobody has even played the game yet.

I think Titanfall looks great. And it makes me question whether or not I should get an X1 instead of a PS4

I am not interested in it since there is zero single player. I dont mind playing online sometimes but I want to be able to practice a bit on my own.

Well it is the guys who basically started the map pack a year trend so I can see some people making those comments.

I'd be shocked if there wasn't a bot mode you can use to practice.

The more I read the more I hope they have decent availability. I had planned on waiting until next year but my resolve is weakening quickly.

Maybe. I was surprised about the ps4 availability. Many people in the forum here said they went with no pre-order and managed to get one. They also had some become available on amazon. I would not be surprised to see the xb1 have the same situation.

Especially seeing as they are delaying so many other countries to have more for launch here. Sucks for them, good for us.

Funny how the Titanfall guys leave COD to make something new and impressive and immediately sell out. Hopefully it doesn't turn into another annual franchise.

Actually this had nothing to do with the Titanfall guys and everything to do with EA. Respawn (the devs) were doing the EA partners program where EA does the distribution and publishing of the game, but the devs (Respawn) retain all rights to the IP and own it. They (Respawn) were not happy when they found out about the deal EA did to make Titanfall exclusive, and even made it pretty clear they weren't happy on their twitter making sad faces. They did clarify on twitter as well that they did not sell the IP to MS and Titanfall 2 will be on on the PS4.

Right now the guys that started Respawn (I can't remember their names Vince Z or something) aren't too happy. They wanted to make a new IP that would be huge for them reaching as many people as possible. This deal EA did directly screws that up. I wouldn't be surprised if after the game is out they quick take care of the DLC and work on TF2 right away and will be making sure that whoever they deal with for publishing wont be dicking them over.

I feel bad for the guys that is for sure though. They left EA because EA dicked them over. They join up with Activision and then leave then after being dicked over. Now they join back up with EA to be dicked over again. I honestly wouldn't have went back to EA after being screwed one time, but I guess they felt good about it and now look

Yeah, I would go the self publish route if I were them. Distribute it digitally through psn, xbl, and steam. Or get with someone who is pretty neutral like square-enix to publish the title.

Self-publishing might be too hard for what is technically a new company without any games under their belt. They could probably get some VC funding based on their name and prior works alone, but that's about it.

I wonder what the deal between Microsoft and EA is? It has to be pretty big for EA to give up PlayStation 4 revenues. I guess Microsoft just wants something to tide the Halo-aficionados over until Halo 5 comes out. However, you think Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 would be enough.

Well, as it turns out, I canceled my Xbox One preorder, not the PS4 one. That is annoying... At least, I have Friday off and can spend some time looking for one if I have to.

Still haven't even opened my PS4. Might send it back. Nobody responds after the initial texts from craigslist.

MS knows Halo will be awhile and the initial console sales are the biggest deal. Getting an exclusive right before launch might cause people who were going to get a PS4 for COD and BF and hold off on the Xbox until Halo was out, which might be after a price drop.

Maybe EA shopped around and said "hey who will give us the most money for this exclusive that will be big because CoD?"

That sucks. If you don't want to stand in line, consider checking Amazon early on Friday, and you'll probably find some in stock. People saw PS4s in stock at that time this past week, and that's probably because orders couldn't be completed for whatever reason, which means Amazon cancels the order.

And that is exactly why MS did what they did. MS did a really good job getting developers to create content for the 360, and it looks like they are still in that mindset. Games move consoles far surer than any number on a page. It's still too early to know how it will play out, but it's nice knowing there are already some big titles coming down the pipe.

Ask your local gamestop on Wednesday if they expect any extras. If so you can always wait on Thursday evening and buy one of those. That's what people were doing with PS4s.

Mine had extra PS4's so I'd expect it to be the same with a higher priced console.

Sony made a ton of PS4s, I think it really all depends on how many consoles Microsoft makes. Past launches have seen 500k or less consoles but Sony came out with a million+, that's why it was so hard to make some money from reselling.

Significantly better than 4? Most of the footage seems marginally better than 4. Not sure why I'm asking. I burnt myself out on 2.

The footage I've seen is significantly better than 4 in the details. The textures, draw distance, environment, and reflections are all vastly improved.

From what I've seen so far, it looks a lot better. Youtube definitely doesn't do this game justice.

People buy Madden because it's a monopoly on the NFL, not because it's a great product.
