Have any of you nerds heard about how quiet the console is from the new reviews?
That extra size (of the console) seems to pay off, though, when it comes to keeping the system quiet. It's functionally silent from across the living room, even when loading data from a disc and running a game. You can make out some very low-level operating noise if you get right up next to the unit, but for most use cases, you'll be able to leave it on without your ears noticing. That's even more surprising when you realize that the system's fan is blowing a fair bit of heat out of the top grating after just a few minutes of gaming.
It isn't just MS that is doing this. Sony also failed to deliver a "finished" product. The problem with the Xbox One is MS was really pushing it as more than a gaming device. Sony focused solely on it being able to play games and had zero hype about the media features (lacking or not at launch). MS is betting big on those being the things that stand out in people's minds, but failed to deliver everything they were talking about.
Obviously, that doesn't matter, as they are selling out quickly when they become available.
Yea agreed. It's not just MS. I was just pointing out that if anyone needed to come out swinging, it was them.

After watching all the xbox one reviews today, I can't help but feel that the xbox one might just be one generation ahead of its time. In a siri-like conversation based voice driven world the xbox one's need for exactness will not go over well and will be abandoned almost immediately by most people. Same goes for only being able to play live TV and not recorded TV from the DVR.
I've been pretty excited for the xbox one since the reveal and now I can't help but feel that it will be disappointing to me.
There needs to be separation between content they are using and purchasing. People should be allowed to own what they purchased. Once that happens I see people being more pliable to the restrictions and use cases of rented/streamed/or broadcast media. The DVR thing, I'm positive, is restricted by the companies partnering with MS to let them use their IPTV. It is an easy software fix to enable that.
I do think MS was too forward thinking for a lot of the people talking about consoles. I was excited for all the all digital stuff and what that brings, but people want to still pretend they own the content they are using.
A couple of things they've mentioned:Currently they are playing Ryse... They aren't going to mention a score, or go into review details. However, their comments (as they are playing) are very positive. And the game is absolutely gorgeous.

They'll be playing Forza in a few minutes (11am PDT.)

Why am I under the impression Microsoft still owns the gaming market?
MS has to come out swinging? Why am I under the impression Microsoft still owns the gaming market? Sony is always copy catting. Nintendo exists because usually if people buy 2 consoles, it is one of them - lol.
