i mean lets not kid ourselves - he has a very valid point. if we didn't care about graphics we wouldn't all have gone out and purchased a next-gen console and would just be sticking to our super nintendo's and genesis! to me though, art style/direction is just as, if not, more important than graphics.
but gameplay is more important than graphics for the most part. but graphics is what we see initially and usually that draws us in. it is just like if you see a movie trailer from early 2000's, in low-def, compared to a movie trailer in high def on a bluray. 99% of the time the new trailer "looks" better just because of the new presentation.
and the only reason i bring this up is because my wife and i watched a movie on amazon prime on ps4 this past week, and we were watching previews for some movies and it was hilarious watching some older previews and how bad it makes the movies look. even the movie we ended up watching, crouching tiger hidden dragon, looked so weak from the trailer.
