I cannot find any other relevant options for log in. I just checked again.

yeah that is what i am thinking, that they simply don't have anything. it's really annoying lol. i'd like to have the kinect hooked up but i physically can't because the wire is too short.

I finally got the controller to connect to the X1 using the Kinect method. I'm still not sure what's up with the X1's connect button not seeming to do anything but make a weird sound effect. :$ What's silly is that I had to go online to see what Microsoft listed as ways to connect the controller. Why in the world doesn't the controller come with a little pamphlet? I didn't see anything with the console either. I expected that connecting it via USB would connect it, which according to Microsoft, it does. So, thanks Sony for actually giving me a cable.

- is there anyway to make it auto-sign in without having to use kinect? i just want to turn on my x1 and NOT have to click sign in and pick my account.

I don't think so? I think the only option was to save your password and to setup a passcode. I haven't been very impressed with the Kinect stuff so far. I turned on the automatic login, and even though my Kinect has been setup, it doesn't work. It won't recognize me when I'm sitting on my couch like they showed in the videos. Well, it sort of recognizes me, but not well at all while I'm sitting down. Now, I've said before that I sit far from my TV (about 11-12 feet), so I decided to try moving closer. I switched to my chair, which is only about 5-6 feet away (I have a rather rectangular living room :|), but oddly enough... it wouldn't recognize me at all when sitting down. Also, the whole "XBOX On" thing doesn't work even though I enabled it....

I think it just disappoints me because of how much Microsoft hyped up these features, but it seems like they setup their environment in the videos to make things work perfectly. That's not exactly unheard of.

fyi, all games for xbox1 are $50 right now on amazon.

Since I already have Killer Instinct (only at MS Store) and Forza 5, I'm not even sure what's worth buying at this point!

When I synced my second controller I pressed the sync button on the controller until it flashed then pressed and held the one on the console. Seemed to work after a couple seconds. I dont know the correct order or another method. It did take some manipulation to get working.

That's really weird, I can't imagine having that many issues. We were screwing around with it at my house and it switches reliably between 4 people depending on who is in the room, the only thing it has a hard time with is if someone is leaning sideways with another person next to them, it can't really figure out where the skeletons are.

Here are Microsoft's official instructions:
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/connect-a-wireless-controller

Did you hear a weird noise when you hit the XBOX One's connect button? I'm pretty certain I did what the instructions said, but who knows... maybe I didn't hold a button down for long enough or something. I didn't see any indicator on the X1 about whether it was looking for devices similar to how the 360 would spin its controller connection LEDs.

I didn't know if it was connecting or searching. There was no indication at all except the controller light flashing. As far as noise I dont remember hearing anything but I honestly can not be sure.

I took the time tonight to get the Kinect coded for my TV, audio receiver and DirecTV box. I can now say "Xbox, turn off" and it will turn off the One, my TV and receiver. I can also say "Xbox, volume up" and it'll crank the sound up two notches (I'll continue to use my DirecTV remote for volume though).

However, I've ran into two problems. First, it will not control my DirecTV HR23-700 at all. It has codes for the device but it just will not work. It's already picky just with the remote so it's not surprising the IR blaster can't seem to find it. Not a big deal I guess, since I seriously doubt I would use voice to look through channels (although telling it to go directly to a channel would be nice).

Second, the first time I issued "Xbox on", it switched on the Xbox One, TV and receiver, which was awesome. But, I got no video, only sound. My TV saw a signal and didn't complain, but it was just black. I could hear the UI swooping sounds as it logged me in. I tried hitting some buttons on the controller but got nothing. It suddenly decided to start working about a minute and half in. I tried turning it off and back on a couple more times and it worked fine after that, however if this thing doesn't work the first time every time, my wife won't buy into it.

I showed her how turning on the Xbox by voice, controller or pressing the button on the console would also turn on the TV and audio, which has normally taken two remote controls. She wasn't as impressed as I was but she does like the idea of getting rid of two remotes. With my setup now, I can turn on the Xbox One in three different way, then just use my DirecTV remote for channels.

The one thing left that I would configure if I could is to have the One default to full-screen TV when it turns on. Right now, it goes to your home screen with whatever app you had running last in the main square. I would rather it show TV normally.

Just a head's up, voice controls work much better when you raise your voice and enunciate. I've found it to be 10x more responsive if I just speak at an average volume and naturally.

Yeah and when you do the setup thing where it checks the sound, turn your speakers up like it says. Once I did that, it was much better. Even when it was silent in the room it picked up my voice better once I did this setup thing.

I'm very impressed with the Xbox One. I absolutely love how fast it switches from game to TV to game to different game (presuming you don't have to swap discs.) This feature alone has convinced me to pass on buying discs from here on out.

Kinect has been pretty much flawless, as well. Voice commands work for me nearly 100% of the time. Walking into the room, saying "Xbox on" and having it turn everything on, and then loading my profile when it sees me, is pretty awesome. Usually, that is all done by the time I pick up the controller.

Some of the interface is still kind of clunky and unintuitive... But I'm sure I'll adapt as I use it more.

Game loading times are pretty sad, but I guess that shouldn't be surprising since there is just more to load now.

LOVING this system!

i just want to re-iterate that i cannot believe how the hell double helix did the netcode on killer instinct. it is literally baffling me right now thinking about how it is so good. my buddy was over earlier and we played offline, and i was just online playing a match with a random person for 20 matches and if i didn't know better i woulda thought it was my friend sitting my room. like pulling off 70+ hit combos online no problem like there is no lag ... simply incredible.

on another note, i don't like how there is no "recent players" list in your friend manager. i wanted to send that guy a friend request and message but i went to it and found no recent player list so i'm not sure wtf is up with that.

Did anyone try kinect sports rivals preseason? It was supposed to be ready for launch but they pushed it, so they released a trial or something. I'd like to hear opinions on how the kinect does with it. I think it's like wave race or something.

They either got production going strong or demand isn't very good. They are in stock at every walmart in a 60 mile radius. Good news for me, not so sure for Microsoft.

Wow, damn my amazon order, lol. My walmart said they sold out at 12:30 AM, I wonder if they got re-stocked?

Yes, I played one race and was impressed by the low latency and ease of use. It worked really, really well for me.

Not sure if it's related, but I remember hearing about a lot of sore losers messaging/threatening the person they last played. Maybe they decided not to include it anymore.

Stupid question, but is your direcTV setup to use IR? My box is RF and IR but you had to choose IR in the settings, which wasn't setup by default.

That happened to me last night. I had just gone into settings and set it up to turn on my receiver, so I thought maybe I had inadvertently messed up a setting or something. I went ahead and did the reset (hold down power and eject to turn it on). I wasn't patient enough, so I don't know if it would've come back after a couple of minutes.

I would like that, as well.

Same here. There are 16 Walmarts in a 50 mile radius from me, and all but one have it in stock.

I had planned on getting a day one edition just to resell it, looks like I made the right decision to cancel the order, however.

I am loving my Xbox One. I like that you can set it so it turns everything on and off when you do the same with your console. I just hit the power button and it turns my tv, Xbox, and Direct TV dvr on. And I am not seeing any picture quality issues with my tv at all, so I am not sure why some people were saying it was darker for them. I'm looking forward to watching football with the nfl app snapped on the side for the other scores today.

I picked up BF since it was the only game my stupid walmart had, and I love the controller. I had to turn the sensitivity down a bit since the sticks are really touchy, but it feels so good in my hands.
