So, basically, it is impossible to score in Fifa. I just finished a game with 9 shots on target. Ended in a 0-0 tie.

Can someone confirm if the XBOX is in instant power on mode, and it's in standby - what happens when a Skype call is made to it?

My friend told me the microsoft store an hour away from me has some XB Ones in stock last night, her husband bought 2. I'll check them this morning, but it's a blizzardy mix in ohio since last night...and it begins.

That's BS really. I mean, if their system shows in stock for customers to see they shouldn't be able to hold them. I remember working retail and whenever something was listed as in stock and the customer could see that, you had to sell it to them.

Some stores like walmart/target are listing them as in stock, but if you call they say they're in stock for the people who pre-ordered and will be "released to the general public" if they aren't picked up "within a week", which coincidentally coincides with black Friday.

I'll look into it later this morning, but I'm not sure what it'll prove. What I mean is...

When my Xbox is in Standby, the TV/AudioReceiver/DirecTV box are all off. So, even if the Xbox sees the Skype call, I would highly doubt that it's going to turn on the TV and Receiver, so I wouldn't even know.

Forza was good, Battlefield 4 was a mess. I miss the Xbox 360's party feature, the one on the One sucks... The second you open the game the voice is disabled for the party and it won't pull you in to matches together.

yeah the party system and invites is ass on xbox1 so far. there is actually A LOT of features they had on 360 that aren't on the x1, which doesn't make sense and i hope they patch them in. in killer instinct, when you invite someone to a game, it forces you to join a party with them. you can't just get in the game and not be in a party. makes no sense. i also can't believe you cannot send voice messages.

The ps4 is the same but they fixed conquest now. I really wanted to join my friends like in call of duty and go into a map together. Overall, the patch for ps4 added weather effects and some other effects, as well as stabilized the servers a little. Framerate seems better too. But the game will still crash randomly sometimes. I really wish they would add the party feature.

I have played DR3 with other people with no problems. Fifa was also smooth.

I wonder if they are using something like GGPO in KI (transferring save states rather than just a host / peer thing of the past). Every game on GGPO like has zero lag, even from America to Japan.

they used GGPO as the base and modified it. however most people are saying that ki is better than any GGPO that has been out there and there are hardly any rollbacks at all. i personally have experienced exactly 1 little hiccup of lag the entire time i have played it online (probably like over 60 matches or so), and it was literally the very first time i played online, and it lasted like the first 2 seconds of the match. so i wonder if something was like syncing or something. other than that, i woulda thought i was playing with my buddy in the same room as me.

I get a bit more lag with BF4 on the One than I do on PS4, but there's a zillion factors that could be playing into that.

Party system is a mess so far. I have had to cold boot a few times in order to enable party chat. Party chat should be on by default when you join a party. Just like the 360. And I don't understand the bf4 party system much. Doesn't seem like you can search while in the same party lobby and such. Just one person joins a game, and it pulls the whole party. yeah i'd be lying if i said that killer instinct is the most fun i've had with a game since 2009 when sf4 came out (which is what got me back into fighters in general), and it's probably better now because it's another new game that everyone is starting together and the netcode is simply ridiculously good. and also the fact that i've just always been a huge ki nut and even own an arcade cabinet, that probably plays into it a bit. i've been waiting 17 years for a new KI and it has met and exceeded my expectations.

check your NAT. i was having major NAT issues over the weekend, some resulting in me not being able to enable party chat. the little circle would keep spinning. then i saw my NAT was strict. i tried so much stuff they recommended to open it, but it wouldn't. sometimes randomly it would open and the chat would work. once i had it open, if i rebooted, it would be strict next time i turned the console on.

then last night someone pointed me to a url that shows how to open the NAT on good ol 360. since i literally used the same port for my x1 as i did for my 360, and 360 always worked fine online, i figured that everything for the 360 was set fine. well nope, it wasn't. i only had 1 port open on UDP and TCP, and there were 3 other ports that they recommended to open. i opened those ports, and now my NAT is open. i did a system reboot too and checked out the NAT afterwards, and it is still open.

but i do agree that the whole party/friend shit is a huge mess right now. the fact you can't just default the mic to be on when accepting party invites makes no sense. there are some major steps backwards with the whole party/friend stuff when comparing it to the 360. i mean you can't even send a voice message wtf?

and i can't even have my x1 auto-sign me into my console because i'm not using kinect. it's annoying as shit to have to take that extra step to sign in EVERY SINGLE TIME i turn on my x1.

I too am a huge KI nut. It was really the only fighter I grew up playing. The amount of blisters I got playing that game... all worth it

when i was getting an error on x1, it said it couldn't get a teredo ip address and to open port 3544 on udp. so after doing that it would work sometimes but not always, and on a reboot it was always strict.

after looking at that link, i only have 3074 open on both udp/tcp. i then added the other 4 rules and it has been open since. i played for like an hour last night, then rebooted it and it was still open, so that is the extent of the testing i've done. but that was the first time after a reboot the nat was open so i think it solved my issue.

Right, that would mean the TV (in my case) would have to be on which is kind of stupid. Would be absolutely awesome if X1 is in standby mode and a skype call caused it to turn itself on and send an IR signal to the TV to turn on.

I just picked up another X1 at the Microsoft Store in Beachwood, OH. They have a lot on hand and won't say how many (lol).
