I have both the PS4 and X1 side by side, the ps4 is barely more compact, and the non-built in power supply on the X1 is a one time annoyance, if that (?).
Why is this always said with a bad connotation? As if paying for exclusives is somehow bad? Sony typically prefers to pay to have subsidiaries make their exclusives, Microsoft typically prefers to pay to have 3rd-party developers make their exclusives. It's really no different from a low-level perspective.
Barely more compact? Hardly...the XB1 huge by comparison.
LOL?
My PS4 is 11" x 12".
My XB1 is 10.5" x 13".
What versions did you guys get? xD
Anyway console size and power brick coming into play in purchasing a console decision = lol

Seriously. People need to validate their fanboyism in whatever way possible lol.
See picture in post above mine. The XB1 is huge when compared directly. It's not fanboy anything...it's reality.
I think what no one can figure out is why it matters. If an extra inch ir two keeps you from buying a console that you otherwise want, you have a weird set of priorities.
Sorry guys, I didn't put my PS4 on top of my X1 during measurements, lol. But you see the measurements are reversed. The X1 is 10.5" deep and the PS4 is 12" deep (I guess that doesn't matter, but the width does?).
Anyway I still think it's a dumb argument, it's not "WAY smaller". It's a couple inches less in width and a couple inches greater in depth! Not sure why it would come into play in which console to purchase, it's not like we're talking about controllers here? If we're talking about portability, the X1 is a hassle if you have to take the kinect everywhere with you.
I don't know if height matters, unless you're just stacking them on top of each other (haha).
Actual measurements:
HxWxD
PS4 is 2" x 11" x 12"
XB1 is 3.5" x 13" x 10.5"
In other news, does anyone know if any directv superfan/NFL supercast type app is coming to X1 anytime soon? Directv cancelled their contract with sony (and the PS3) a while ago (I think) because of their "NFL" integration with the X1, but I have no idea what that means?
Thanks!

people are seriously saying that someone would get one console over the other based on one being an inch bigger than the other? this forum has gone full on f'ing retard.

The sooner you realize that different people have different preferences, priorities, and tastes the sooner you will be happier. I know people who buy TVs based on the stand and bezel. Even when there are better models that don't cost as much.
There is a difference between "we own the studio" and "We will pay millions just to prevent the competition from getting it at all"
yeah because a tv that is the center piece of a room that you will be staring at for hours on end is the same thing as a 10x10x2 box that you sit somewhere in an entertainment rack and could potentially be out of site.
right.
full on retard.
Talk about glass half empty.
Let's take Guerilla Games, for example. Sony didn't create them, they bought them. Do you look at it as Sony buying the developer as spending millions just so the competition can't have any of their games? Doubtful, you gleefully exclaim that Sony owns them and it's completely different than Microsoft buying exclusivity.
Whatever. Both Sony and Microsoft pay millions to get exclusive games, they just happen to have a bit different of a philosophy in how to do it sometimes. Somehow Microsoft is the bad guy in this.
Gaming would be better if neither Sony nor Microsoft bought off devs.
Getting good titles in the most homes would be the best result for everyone. The money paid by Sony or Microsoft to buy a studio outright, or to legally bribe a studio into 'exclusivity' isn't money that comes from thin air. It's done because they believe they will profit at least enough to make that investment back. How that money comes back is in steering people to their platform with the titles that are now exclusive to the platform.
This isn't like Nintendo working their own IPs, this is just taking third parties that would otherwise make these titles available across every profitable platform and muscling them out.
Imagine a world where Halo, Forza, The Last of Us, Uncharted, etc, were on every viable platform rather than forced to only exist on one system or the other. Better for gamers hands down. And instead of forced artificial exclusives from 3rd parties or devs that got bought out, they could spend that $ instead employing their own people to make great exclusives.
Result? Gamers would have a lot more options on each system, and there would be even MORE great games out there with the money being spent more wisely.
i disagree 100%. i think exclusives drive competition and push things forward.
but i would love to see mario and zelda and metroid on the ps4 and/or xbox 1.
