seems to be nothing at all to do with the 24h checkin as the article tries to make you think. the game was being played on an x1 that it was not purchased on, and when the net connection was lost, it was trying to check back in. so basically it's the same exact lockout that we've seen on the dlc games on 360 and ps3.

I saw a comment about this on Facebook via Focus Attack Street Fighter & Fighting game Store and they said they own Dance Central 3 to play with their GF but when they bring the game over to their place to use their console he needs to log in to his Xbox Live account or none of the DLC tracks will work.
This seems like something similar to that. You have to log in on an account that is authorized to play the content. To me it seems as if someone tried to cheat and download it on a second system and play it without going online hoping it would never try to check if this person is allowed to play it. I do not blame Double Helix in the least if they are protecting their game from this practice by including some sort of authorization. People cry foul over DRM without thinking about the consequences of not having it in the first place. There would be unauthorized copies of the game everywhere. You'd have one guy using his account to download it on 10 consoles and possibly selling it for $10 a pop to do so.
PSN and the PS3 had a huge problem with this and I think they fixed it. If you bought DLC, you could log into any console, redownload it, and it was available for that console forever. I had a friend who bought all the DLC for like every fighting game, and I did that for MVC, SF4, and BlazBlue. He gave me his info, I logged him in, downloaded it, and then he changed his password. I had the DLC available on my account.
XBL has always had a system in place where if it was not the console it was originally downloaded on, the purchasing account had to be logged in to play use it. And, that is a good system.
I don't think the purpose of the video was to show how to fix, but rather to stir up shit.After watching that whole video I've come to the conclusion that whoever is controlling that Xbox is an idiot. Not once did they do the obvious and actually reconnect to the network or attempt to log out of the console and then back in. They also don't appear to try restarting it. That's basic troubleshooting. Once they logged in right at the end it magically worked. Imagine that. The video is heavily edited so we have no idea what they actually did to make it magically work.

How many chapters is it? I am almost done with knack and will be moving on to ryse soon, probably tonight. I wanted to play through knack before ryse since I can get the $40 back from gamestop for it before the 22nd and I think I would rather trade knack than ryse for that deal.
