Yes it does...that's why there is a high price tag. Are you saying that a Pagani Zonda R isn't worth more than a Mustang then? You should do a little research on things before you talk. Things built to very strict specifications, sometimes by hand, with tight tolerances and high quality electronic parts do add to both the quality and the cost. This is why there are luxury items with better specs. Yeah they cost more but people who demand better will have to pay more.
Someone spent $300 on a headset? Bose or Beats Audio? Was the cord on it a genuine Monster Cable brand cable?

Ever hear or Sennheiser? Grado? Check out Sony's pro line like the MDR-7520 for studio work? These stereo headphones have a high price tag because of their quality and sound characteristics. Granted Grado has some very affordable cans available but when you go higher end, you get better sound but also higher price. I could name more but what's the point. People here probably think their $50 turtle beach headset is the pinnacle of audio fidelity.
