Anyone else notice all the XB1 deals going on the past few weeks? It looks like MS is really trying to penetrate the market early on... great strategy IMO. I can't even find PS4 in stock... I really don't think it is more people are buying PS4. I get the impression MS is just more prepared.

Only time, like the past? They sold 141k in January. MS is not prepared, they are penetrating anything, they are sitting on shelves. The PS4 is sold out in most places and has sold 2x the XB1 in Jan while being in 53 countries, not 13. They are also ready to release in Japan. So who is prepared and for what? Ms not prepared for slow sales and Sony not prepared for so many sales? Maybe.

I still find it incredibly stupid that you can't check for updates manually. I haven't gotten the update but I want to download it. Why is there no button to check for firmware updates and then you can choose to download and install it?

I find it both hilarious and stupid that after all the hype about how much better the UI and XBL were on Xbox vs. PS, that the XB1 Dash and online experience have been plagued with missing features and stupid design choices.

To Microsoft's credit, better late than never : they are making strides so that by the 1 year mark, it will be WAY WAY better than it was at the start.

If bestbuy was smart, they would only put out one or two Xboxs at a time. Make it look rare. Seeing palettes is not reassuring that you are getting something desired.

I'm guessing they are holding back ps4s for the Japanese launch. Need to make sure you have stock in your home territory.

The last sales numbers I saw didn't show that large of a disparity. MS has XB1 on the shelves so they're giving deals to get them moving. I don't see this as a bad thing.

I don't see them making deals as a bad thing either, but let's not pretend that this is what Microsoft wants to see. Getting outsold down the run like this month to month is going to leave them behind in install base here in the States, let alone the rest of the world where they get creamed.

Haha. I have a first date with a girl I postponed until next week because valentine's day is a sort of strange day to have a first date (blind date). If I knew her better it might actually work, but it could be awkward.

I picked up dinner at a restaurant and it was completely packed, and hilarious that almost every woman was wearing a red sweater.

It's all over the net about PS4 outselling X1 2:1 in Jan. That being said...I see both consoles readily available in almost every store I've been in that sells them. No shortage on either end...of course, I also know no one who's bought either.

Here's the problem with that. There are zero actual numbers and a Sony rep is who is saying "nearly double". While, I agree, the PS4 is selling more units, who gives a crap? Unless any of you are on MS' board or have stock in the company, you shouldn't care either. You should care about which console has what YOU want and buy it.

I'm confused by this. You stated that people shouldn't care about the poor sales, I gave you an reason they should. MS is clearly focusing their efforts on the US market, so things must be way worse overseas.
