yeah it's kinda dumb though. its a registration app that submits you, and then they pick pepole from the registrations. so i'm not guaranteed it.
it also says that i won't be able to party up with anyone who doesn't have the update until everyone gets it in march. but that's not a big deal to me since i hardly party up, except maybe when titanfall comes out.
but they did also say that you can invite anyone once you are in. so i'll see if i get in or not.
I saw that it is only going to be around 15.8 gbs, which seems really small.

Yeah I thought about that shortly after I typed it. I even made a joke about it in another forum, where people would have killed for a multiplayer game with 15 gbs of data a year ago, but now we are conditioned to think we need 35-40 gigs on our games. I can't wait for TF. I am not selling games this generation, and since they are letting you preload it, this may be one of the first day one digital games I do this generation. For MP only? Not even close to being small.

A side note to your side note, will this track be put into the career mode in circuits that you haven't completed, or is it only for free races and online? It's so nice not having to think about disks at all.
On a different note, does anyone know how big the Road America download was for Forza 5? It auto did it and I didn't get a chance to look. I'm curious since Turn10 talked up the amount of data it took to build each track.
Yes, it is a career event.A side note to your side note, will this track be put into the career mode in circuits that you haven't completed, or is it only for free races and online?

Update: Microsoft says Titanfall's pre-load option was posted in error and it doesn't plan to allow Xbox One owners to download the game in advance of launch. A Microsoft spokesperson offered the following comment to Polygon:
"We believe in digital distribution, and are proud to give gamers a variety of ways to purchase and experience their games. However, pre-purchase and pre-download for Titanfall for Xbox One will not be available from Xbox Store. We'll continue to strike a balance between digital distribution and its benefits, while supporting physical games purchase through our retail partners."
"The pre-purchase offer page was posted in error. We apologize for any confusion."
I wish MS would take the hard stance already and say "F*ck physical discs and all the troglodytes that want them! DD is the way of the future and we are going to make it as convenient as possible and give incentives."
Valve did this and they are better off for it. And it wasn't because of Steam sales. Those started in 2009, years after Steam had already taken over.
You realize that if Microsoft said 'F*ck physical discs and the troglodytes that want them!' they'd instantly lose this generation, right?
A huge % of their customer base doesn't have a sufficient internet connection to DD games, and it's getting worse instead of better (net neutrality gutted, more caps every year, mergers = less competition, higher price per mbit).
Making DD affordable and logical would go a LONG way towards helping that area though.
They don't have to insult or cut off their customers to do so, all they have to do is price the DD at a lower level than physical. After all, you get no disc, no manual, no case, there is no manufacturing cost, yadda yadda. To price them at the same level (or sometimes HIGHER?) than physical is insulting in itself.
I really wish people would stop with the high horse 'f*ck the troglodytes who want physical discs' crap. It only makes you look like a douche. Not everybody has that option. Some people just like having them.
I would prefer all digital but you can almost always catch the discs on sale. I'm not paying more for less.
Amazon put ps4 and xb1 games on sale for $50 like a month or less after release. Target did b2g1 at launch. These deals are untouchable by digital games. Even steam doesn't have the same type of sales for brand new releases. Sure steam gives a bundle of somewhat older titles or a deal on some title. You couldn't get a free game when you bought two the same week the games came out.

The sooner they lower prices on digital games, the better they will do in sales.
