That Titanfall bundle blows. I think that most folks were hoping for a custom console, like the 360 had for Halo 4 and Gears of War 3. I'm hoping that they have one for Halo 5, because I'd like to put that with my Halo 4 360. It makes me want to hold out longer for a One.

Ps4 is also doing a bundle for infamous. I don't think they will include the game as part of the price. That is good MS is doing this, should definitely sell more users.

Other reviews were more favorable toward the game. Some compared it to dishonored which was good IMO.

Ign doesn't seem to be favorable to games light on fighting and action in general from what I remember of their past reviews.

And those games came out how long after the console launch? Exactly... This is a good deal no matter who retardedly bias you want to be. It is a free game for the price of what the console costs alone.

Metacritic has the PC version at 71 (which is the highest of all platforms, with XO being 70 and PS4 being 69). While that is much higher than I expected, it is far lower than I'd hoped. Thief 2 was simply phenomenal. This is basically a reboot of the Godfather or Star Wars. No matter how much better the effects are, you're missing a lot.

It just sucks that they didn't take advantage of the chance to make extra sales with a special console. $550, throw on some paint, profit. This is one of the few instances where the price gouging for collectibles (of sorts) actually interests me. I would not pay that for a painted console. The game included is a better option. Don't worry, you will pay for DLC though.

If people thought that there would be a special edition Xbox One, just four months after it's release, then they were misguided. It's too soon in the console's life cycle.

I, and I'm guessing the vast majority of consumers, would rather have a lower price (aka included game), then a higher one. And frankly, price is MS's big hurdle right now. A higher price, themed console would move a relatively few units, but certainly not enough to affect the big picture. A better deal is more likely to kickstart sales.

Yeah, I honestly believe that's 90% of the reason.

I'm sure some are grabbing a PS4 because of the resolution differences, but that's not your every day consumer. The vast majority of people in the world aren't like us here... They don't pay attention to such things.

I think price and lack of games is their biggest barrier to being the "winner" (as if they aren't winning being in second place moving almost 4 million consoles in 3 months...). The PS4 has a slight advantage in price (with the same problem of games), so it is winning. When the Xbox One gets more titles (which Titanfall is helping), sales will pick up. I think a lot of this generation is going to own both, and it is only a matter of when they will pick up both. Currently, I only have an Xbox One (sold my PS4) because there were no games I need it for. I am sure that will change and I will pick one up in the future.

This may be one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time. Man, this bundle blows so bad just because they didn't put some ugly paint job on it. Who wants a free game when they could have put stripes on their Xbox One?

Yeah, because the painted Gears and Halo consoles didn't come with the games they were painted for...the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Not really, depends what type of games you are into. Forza, don't care about, killer instinct..not my type but fun game, titanfall is also on PC.

The definition of solid I guess can vary too. Games like gears of war, yea solid, fable, yup. Same with last of us, infamous, uncharted.

At one point there will be a game I would want an xb1 for, hopefully.

Yes, and no. For the most part, both have the exact same games. While the Xbox One exclusives available now are far superior in my opinion, a lot of people don't care for either. And, in that case, the PS4 easily wins a lot more of the sales. $100 less for the same experience in COD isn't really a hard bargain to sell.

However, it should probably be noted the 360 is still selling well (something like 47% of console sales in January were Xbox One or Xbox 360).

MS is banking Titanfall will be that killer app that helps push them in the lead and build momentum.

I really think this generation is a war of which console to buy first; and the distinct lack of real titles favors the cheaper system.

Actually they are about the same to me. If I was buying today and could only buy one I could flip a coin and say "ok that's cool...I'll get that one" because the games I've played the most it seems are on both consoles.

Titanfall and inFamous will both move more units I'm sure.

It's not like those two were the first painted consoles to arrive. They started with the Halo 3 one in 2007 (given, that was 2 years after the initial launch). But regardless, it's not exactly sensible to look at the 360 launch, ignore how the landscape has changed, and say that Microsoft will follow that trend exactly. They released 2 limited edition 360s (RE5 and MW2) within 7 month of each other. Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 all got special consoles. Would it be THAT surprising if Halo 5 got one?

The first game-based controller on the 360 was the Halo 3 on in 2007, I think. Yet here's Microsoft, not waiting 2 years before they launch the first game-specific controller skin. If they would release a special controller after 3 months, is it THAT unlikely that they would release a special console after about a year (when Halo 5 should be out)? The original 360 came in multiple models, this one does not.

The simple fact is Microsoft knows that Halo sells merchandise like crazy. I would say it's AT LEAST 70% likely that we see a Halo 5 Xbox One. If Kinect Star Wars can get a special console and Kinect, Halo 5 certainly can. Call it stupid if you want.

No, the PlayStation brand is much bigger than the Xbox brand. Pretty much the only territories that Xbox 360 led last generation were US and UK, everything else was PlayStation land.
