It is kind of silly people are arguing over this deal. It is basically the cost everyone cried about (matching the PS4) and a discounted price for Titanfall. yet, that isn't good enough. Always gotta be us or them mentality.

Lol...it works out cheaper than a ps4 + 1 game. Oh well

Best Buy has matched Walmart's price. If Gamestop matches, I may finally pull the trigger.

Hahahhahahahhahahahahahahaha.

That was a good one.

Gamestop prob has it for $599 and charges $20 shipping and forced bundles with $100 of extra crap they can't sell and doesn't even give a bundle price.

Picked up infamous this afternoon and the local GameStop managers said GameStop isnt matching this and they dunno why. They actually told people to go to best buy for a better deal lol. The Microsoft rep got an email when he was in the store about this deal too from what they said.

Same reason they still have old games at $59.99 when everyone else has them at 29.99-39.99. Same reason they try to sell a game like Wii Fire Emblem without the case or manual for full complete in box eBay prices but won't match eBay prices when eBay is significantly lower. Same reason you can get $9 off but it ONLY applies to stuff shipped to home so they can charge $9 shipping.

People who run Gamestop corporate are douches lol.

Lol...yeah...the people who are area manager, district manager, regional manager and above are nice people but aren't gamers and don't know the ins and outs like we do. From my time there I learned that anyone above store manager is useless if you have an issue. Especially so if it relates to price. They have no clue about games, they only know numbers.

I am happy though that I am pretty good friends with the managers at my local store...I help out their numbers and spend a lot of money there but they do help me in return.

I just thought it was a bit funny that they told people that buying an xb1 at best buy was a better deal for the customer.

I purchased a Nyko Charge Base from Costco a couple of weeks ago ($17.99), and I'm quite happy with it. It does exactly what it is supposed to do... Just set the controller on the base, and it charges.

The base plugs into the wall and it comes with two rechargeable battery packs.

I just use eneloops with my X1 controllers. The batteries don't drain all that quickly, so I'm not too worried about charging them all the time. On the other hand, I do have a charger for my PS4.

^This. Thanks to those that suggested Eneloops to me way back in the thread - finally got some and am very impressed so far. They also work great in Wii controllers.

Love them as well. I keep 8 of the AAs ready to go for whenever I need them.

Buying eneloops was such a damn good idea, glad I listened to people.

Jumping in to say that I might never buy Li-ion batteries for my Xbone, and kind of regret the money I have been spending on Xbox 360 batteries over the years. Enloops last almost as long if not longer. Can go through much more cycles. They will also last years when not in use and not the 2-3 months that the Li-ion packs do.

I even picked up some of their XX series. They don't last as long on the shelf (1 year to retain 80% instead of 5 years (this is only for a single charge and can be recharged to full for the most part from there)) and don't support as many cycles (500 charges before it can only be charged to 50% vs 1800). But the extra 1000mWh can be worth it (2x 2500 vs 2x2000) in-terms of play sessions and a dollar per battery means I can still buy 3-4 pairs for the cost of 1 360/one battery and get 2000 cycles and 14000 game play hours out of them. I can tell you that 3-4 360 batteries that I have had basically die on my since 2005 have not seen anywhere near that kind of service. I probably averaged less than 1k hours per battery. I could get more play out of the base eneloops and spend less, but to minimize battery swapping is more useful for me.

Not to pick fights but it does make it that much harder to the use the DS4. None exchangeable Li-ion battery that will only last ~4 hours for me. Where the Xbone has a swappable battery where you can make the choice of which battery and of which composition. Li-ion MS pack, LI single use AA, Alkaline AA, Alkaline rechargeable, Ni-Mh rechargeable, LSD vs. RSD. Different choices in manufacturers, in capacity, in recharge cycles.

Apparently, the Xbox One bundle hit $399 on Amazon, but has since gone back up to $449. I wonder how many people got in on that deal!

This has happened twice recently. I wonder if an official price drop is coming with all these combo deals?

Either way I'm glad I waited. Going to get a bunch of bugs worked out AND a cheaper price by the time I buy! Watch dogs isn't for another 2 months so I'll see what else happens.

Technically that isn't true, since the controller comes with a regular set of AA's that you will have to replace, while the ps4 comes with a battery that can be charged.

Technically, it is true, because you don't have to charge the controller every night.

Well that's true. It is really dumb that the controllers only last that long, not to mention that they will wear down with each charge of the lifetime of the controller. People wanted to act like having the battery in the controller was the obvious choice and MS made a huge mistake, but I love using my eneloops, especially since they last so long.

I saw an interesting report on IGN yesterday. Microsoft is dropping a few interesting hints on what announcements they'll have for upcoming trade shows (E3, Tokyo Game Show (TGS)). The biggest one for me is that they'll be announcing an exclusive JRPG for the console, which is supposedly going to coincide with the XBOX One's release in Japan (or at least be available for it).

The good part? Microsoft helped fund Sakaguchi (the "Father of Final Fantasy") when he needed money to create Mistwalker Studios. If the name doesn't sound familiar, they're the company that created the exclusive JRPGs Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey for the 360. So, there's a good chance that we may see a RPG from them.

The bad part? There was no indication when they would actually announce this. E3 is in June, which is only about two and a half months away at this point, but TGS is in September, which feels like ages at this point! If Microsoft is trying to court the Japanese gamers (again), they may save their heavy hitters for TGS.

Even if it is put off until TGS, MS funding development of another Mystwalker written game would be amazing.

Here's the thing though, I wore out my PS3 controller before the battery actually died and didn't hold charge. So I don't think it's a problem in that way at all.

I don't know why they bother with Japan. Twice they got snubbed by them...isn't that enough? One RPG will get them a short sales boost which will die quickly because I'm sure Sony isn't gonna stand by idle.

I must make it clear though that I thought Blue Dragon was terrible so if it is from that team I'm not going to be impressed. People were wearing rose tinted glasses due to the name behind it when it released IMO.

Blue Dragon wasn't as good as Lost Odyssey IMO, but it wasn't terrible. LO was helped by the fact they got Uematsu to do the music though. You can say rose tinted glasses all you want, doesn't change the fact this man is a musical genius.
