The concepts are great, the execution just gets frustrating. To an extent, free-running can be frustrating in that game. You get awkwardly stuck on objects, and it is rather infuriating at times.

My main problem was always the combat, though. It's redundant, shallow in its execution, and it is either tediously slow (block and counterattack forever) or a total button mash (wildly slaughter everyone without even trying).

I think it was intended to be played stealthy where you never get into combat to begin with. But yeah it isn't that great.

The free running in ac4 is a bit better but limited. European settings had better places to use it with the taller buildings.

There are pirates being attacked who join when you save them. You will notice your crew count go up.

Plus the damn eavesdrop stuff at, all assassin stuff I disliked

Just looking at the screenshots I don't see what there is to be impressed about. I've seen many games that have lighting and shadow that looks that good if not better sometimes. In one screenshot it looks like they ticked a box that says "enable extreme black crush" and then turned it off for the next shot.

Is it just more of a technical thing in how it's used that makes it impressive? Easier to implement the lighting in the game etc? I'm not a programmer and don't make games so...I don't really follow what they're trying to show.

It's really more about the Unreal Engine 4 than Fable Legends. It basically shows how direct lighting, indirect lighting from the sky, and indirect lighting from lights affect the image.

So it looks like even after all the fire sales MS still sold 60k less in March than the ps4, MS really screwed up with their reveal last year. So much bad will and press, I still actually like the One better though.

Yeah, I have a teacher who loves the series and plays it with little combat involvement. Personally, I like Dishonored for that element, but I kinda want to fight folks more in Assassin's Creed. Plus, every battle usually ends up with engaging in the annoying combat BECAUSE the character tried to run up the wrong section of wall.

But like is said, the game tells an interesting story, and the settings are great. I was considering finishing the series up, but I got a One, so now I'm selling my 360 and hoping that a remastered version shows up on the One someday.

That, or I'll get whatever mega pack they discount on Steam at the end of the year.

MS has moved 5 million Xbox Ones and the PS4 has moved 7 million. I'd say they are doing just fine.

Microsoft has sold 5 million Xbox ones to retailers.
Sony has sold 7 million ps4s to consumers.

There is a very big difference between these 2 numbers. It's quite likely that sony has sold twice as many consoles to consumers. Generally, tech companies only release numbers for shipments to retailers while not releasing sales to consumers when the product isn't selling well.

PS4 outsold the xbox1 by 2 to 1 in March, even with the Titanfall release that was supposed to spur sales. Microsoft probably isn't going to make any money this generation...

Just because the One is selling slower than the PS4 does not mean that it is selling poorly; it's selling exceptionally well by any other measure for the industry. Both consoles are virtually way past guaranteed success when they have this many sales not even one year into their 10 year lifespan.

We saw how sales slowly turned around when the PS3 stopped being more expensive than the 360, so I'm going to wait and see how things play out when the price between the two is even.

Source that both statements are true? The only site I've ever seen to attempt to aggregate sales is VGChartz, and they have it as 7.1 million to 4.3 million, which isn't a 2:1 ratio.

Also, continue to remember that while they aren't huge markets, there are plenty of places that the Xbox One hasn't launched yet, so Sony has more potential customers.

Plus, remember that Japan has always been something of a racist market, never accepting Microsoft. Europe is really the only place where Microsoft is hurting, as Japan is a dead market, the North American numbers are pretty close to each other (about 2.9 million to 3.2 million), and the "rest of world" number of markets favors Sony.

Sony's going to outsell Microsoft this generation, I think that's a near-certainty. Acting like Microsoft is failing, or like it's not a stacked deck in Sony's favor (read: Japan will never accept an outside console), is silly.

Plus, even if his numbers were the case, the games topping the PS4 chart aren't selling as well, as far as attachment rate goes. COD Ghosts has sold only 350k more on PS4 than on Xbox One, considering the "2:1 ratio". So, MS is making more money per console on games than Sony.

It isn't like the PS4 is hard to find now. If it were still completely sold out everywhere, I might buy that the PS4 is to consumers and the Xbox One is to retailers. However, I can buy a PS4 at Amazon, BestBuy, etc right now. They are in stock.

Sony released the sales numbers, it's not an estimate.

Microsoft has yet to earn a profit on its xbox division. The risk of failure is simply that Microsoft may exit and focus on things it is capable of making money at, like business solutions.

It isn't hard to find a PS4, but it is very easy to find stacks and stacks of unsold xbox1s. Difficulty moving product = bad.

I'm not sure why you quoted those two statements and asked for a source... it's in this thread. You might have just missed the business vernacular that Microsoft was using as they specifically used the term "shipped" versus "sold". Shipped does not mean that a consumer has purchased the item, but rather, it's been sent (sold) to a third-party seller (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.).

And, if you follow the sources the 7 million TO CONSUMERS is estimated by Sony. ESTIMATED

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced that the PlayStation®4 (PS4™) computer entertainment system has cumulatively sold through more than 7.0 million units*1 globally as of April 6, 2014 (JST), demonstrating the rapid growth of the PS4 platform.

*1 Number of retail sales to consumers is estimated by SCEI.

You're also trying to paint some "Wii U" type picture because MS has sold 5 million consoles rather than 7 million.

The Xbox One has also a better attachment rate with significantly less titles release. It is hardly all doom and gloom for MS.

They are having difficulty moving them now? Really? Last time I checked, selling 3.5 million (last SOLD, not shipped number from MS in January) in 3 months isn't exactly having trouble.

The xbox one has sold nowhere near 5 million units. Can you really not grasp the difference between shipments and sales? This is a basic concept to anyone who observes the tech business.

They did great at launch. It's been 2014 that's been really terrible. The last few months, Sony has been selling two to one. Perhaps this may have something to do with the ps4 supplies finally matching demand?

Microsoft is far likelier to exit the console game than nintendo, since they have yet to turn a profit with xbox. Microsoft has many other profitable areas they could focus on. Business services is far more profitable than console gaming...

Why the debate over sales numbers? Or more specifically... Who cares? Does it really affect how much you enjoy your console? Or just justify that you chose the right one, presuming your only criteria for which console is best for you, is sales numbers.
