did he convince you, though, or did you say "child plz"
I have never met a sales person trying to talk me out of buying something. I've even asked about lesser quality, cheaper stuff and gotten honest responses. But, never gotten a "that sucks! Don't buy it!" I'd certainly have given him a nice response about the intelligence level of a 40 year old working as a Fry's associate talking people OUT of buying stuff from their store and then reported the moron to his manager. But, I'm a dick like that. =)
This is why I either buy online, or do extensive research and simply walking with exactly what I want to buy.
I'm familiar with them trying to sell you warranties but talking someone out of a purchase is stupid and a no no in any retail sales position.
It's none of his business why you want something unless you specifically say well I want a console but I'm really not sure which I should get.
I had a kid at best buy trying to sell me a wireless mouse when I went in to buy a wired one for my desktop. Well you know a wireless one is more comfortable it's better. I was like It's not more comfortable I'm sitting at a desk where it will never need to go anywhere. Besides I didn't want to use batteries or have a Bluetooth usb chip around which I would easily loose because I've done so before when I owned a laptop.
Then told me how much the Xbox broke to justify the $130 warranty (warranty bullshit I understand though). This wasn't a kid either, he had to have been almost 40.

They said the program will start with the June OS update, which looks like will be on the 9th.has microsoft announced when we will get those games with gold games? I know they said June, but I haven't seen anything yet today.
so the free games are live, but mine are installing to 99% then stopping. Anyone else having this issue?
nm, apparently you have to update your system before it will install and work.
edit: I know there is a pinned announcement you can click on at the home screen that says "get more with gold" but will that always pop up when a new discount or game is added or what? The update is live now (for me anyhow) and I was able to install spartan assault

It's under the menu at the top: Xbox Live Gold > Games with Gold
So are you telling me there's no way to check this from the store? Only from the website? I personally like being able to see this directly from the store. Hope they add it in like PSN has.
I'm not sure if it exists, but I have to ask...if they have the big thing you can see on the front page about it, does the Store page even need to exist? It's not a hidden offer, it's front-and-center as it is.
Beginning today, new PC drivers for the Xbox One controller will be available for download, offering PC gamers a better way to play using the Xbox One controller. .
I think XB1 is going to be Microsofts last console. They are going to go back to embracing PC gaming because they see that's where the future is. Not saying it will be the last Xbox console, but Microsoft will probably sell it off after this gen to focus on the PC.
I think you're probably right though we won't know for sure for a few more years. PC gaming is exploding right now. For whatever reason, console gaming is becoming less sexy from a business point of view. Both Microsoft and Sony are taking a beating. The PS4 is a market success and making a profit for Sony, but it's not enough to offset the losses they have had for years.
Microsoft is in a good position to invest it more PC entertainment software while divesting away from hardware. Microsoft has done well to bring the fight to Sony, but to date they still haven't been able to turn the Xbox brand into a profit center they had hoped for.
Sony was failing not just because of the console. Their other markets as well, the tv's other devices. Their tv and appliance sector lost some sales over the years.
Sony was having a lot of problems outside of their console department. Their TV and electronics are likely still struggling. I think their movie studio was doing bad, as well as their music group for awhile.
MS, on the other hand, can afford to lose a billion dollars every 3-4 years on consoles.
