I've been asked several times recently by people who want to trade or sell me their xb1. A few times I considered it but after the 3rd person I started to wonder why they all want to get rid of it. Most of them want to trade towards gaming pc stuff so I guess that doesn't speak too well of the ps4 either.

I think it's more of a statement about game availability and less about the platforms. I've been annoyed with the delay between console release and games I want to buy. All I play on my XB1 is Forza and there is nothing I want to play on the PS4 until Last of Us is released. I think some gamers are probably just tired of waiting.

Fortunately, both consoles will get some decent content this year via Last of Us (PS4), Diablo 3, Halo (XB1), Forza Horizon 2 (XB1), GTAV, and Destiny. I think in 2015 both consoles, especially the PS4, will come alive with lots of great content. By the end of 2015, no one should be able to complain about games, exclusive or otherwise.

What about the free games that you get? I don't know if you actually play any of those or not. Also, don't all XBOX One games that Microsoft gives away through Games for Gold have the same subscription requirement as PlayStation Plus? (Note, XBOX 360 games do not... just XBOX One.)

the free games given away by both psn and xbl are pretty much irrelevant to me. if i want a game i'll pay for it.

rockstar is doing the PC version themselves. gta4 was outsourced and ported. Gta5 is going to be done the same way max Payne 3 was. In fact they use the same engine.

Officially, by the end of the year. My guess is that it will be in Nov or early Dec to catch the holiday traffic but no one knows for sure. Amazon has it listed as Dec 31, 2014.

May as well be when I have already made up the cost of PSN+ in 6 months by not having to buy the games they give me.

Games with gold will be the same. I'll make up the cost of the sub by getting a bunch of games I didn't have to buy. Calculate the cost of those games had I purchased them and I may as well just get the subscription for free.

At the end of the day I download every game they give away regardless of what it is. If I bought them they would cost way over the cost of subscribing. The bonus games are worth it. I don't have to buy them no but the value of the game still counts overall. After a year I may have downloaded $100+ worth of various titles that I did not buy. That is a huge value incentive whether you want to admit it or not, even if the game sucks and I delete it I didn't have to pay the $15 asking price.

GwG has changed to mimic PSN+ on the One. You keep games on the 360, but it requires a sub on One.

Well I'll always have a psn + subscription so I download both games each month regardless if I like them or not. That way if I want to play them months later I can still access them for free.

Seeing as I bought my psn + membership card around black Friday I won't have trouble getting another year or so for $30.

I turned on my Xbox for the first time in what seems like months. Did the update and updated Forza and now I don't get any sound. The sound on the Xbox screen is fine and the sound on the intro to the game is fine. But once I get into the game none of the menu's nor races have any sound whatsoever. Makes a it pretty pointless and infuriating. Any ideas?

Have you checked the in game sound options? If that doesn't work, the first thing I would do is a hard reboot (turn the console fully off, not just standby mode).

I had a similar issue when I first took my Bone to my sister's. What had happened was the console had somehow changed the system's volume setting to 7.1 surround sound (which she didn't have). Went into the settings, changed it back (I think to 5.1), and it came back just fine.

I'll try that. I use 5.1 as well.

That's odd because a receiver should be able to interpret the 7.1 PCM signal and pass it through the speakers you have as 5.1 no?

You would think so but changing it from uncompressed to 5.1 solved the problem. Thanks Lil Frier.

Keep playing with the settings then. I might be wrong in saying 5.1 was what I put it on. I was having an issue with it because Powerstar Golf would play all of the in-game audio, except the announcer, who was silent. Once I changed it off of 7.1, it was fine. Otherwise, try a different TV or something, just to make sure that the console's not faulty.

What is wrong with it? I havent read up on it thoroughly but a few good impressions on amazon and a few other places.
