The real fault lies with publishers and developers who take the money and then say BS to fans like "we are trying to make the best tomb raider experience".
Also in regard to destiny I believe it is in the contract from Activision and bungie that the game must release on Xbox. They can't exclusive the game at all.
I really don't understanding people faulting MS and Sony for getting exclusives. They don't force it on the publishers. They simply offer them some cash or resources. The publishers hold the keys. Quick money up front, or the "risk" of not making as much on the back end for the other console. In a timed exclusive, it works out for the publisher: up front cash and then sales later on when it releases on the other console, provided the game isn't a dud.

Sony hasn't outright paid for timed exclusivity rights on an entire game release yet. Paying Bungie for a little extra perks isn't even close to the same thing as what MS has done, now with several games this gen.
And, of course, Sony has never done that right? And, MS didn't have to pay Rockstar a ton of money to get GTA4 on the Xbox 360 at launch either? Nope. They are obviously the only guys doing bad things.
Every console maker has tried to do this. Nintendo, Sega, Sony, MS. They want games their competitors don't have. The problem with MS is they don't have many in house studios for first party development to prop up exclusives. If Sony and Nintendo didn't have these, they'd not have more exclusives outside of Japan.
It happens from time to time. If my attention span wasn't bad enough, posting something like that at work, I end up typing it up over the course of hours. I think that one was ~5 minute periods over the course of 3 hours. So I am certain that their are 3 nearly separate trains of thoughts in there. Just looking at it I am not sure I want to read it to fix it. Main point being the butt hurt is usually fans of the competing brand and lots of them feign interest in a game they probably weren't going to purchase anyways. That's not going to hurt their (MS) image and even the rage is short lived (by using other examples). I wanted to add that I personally think the worst practices comes from true content exclusive to pre-orders (Alien:Isolation) and content exclusive and free to one console (Destiny). Even that only applies to be getting special treatment for their purchase due to console and not exclusive ability to purchase DLC (COD). Bungie telling Xbox owners that their $60 isn't as good as PS4 owners $60 really rubs me the wrong way.@Topweasel

Only because they were the only kid on the block. There were so many trials and tribulations that developers had to go through to get games released on the Nintendo 64. That the Saturn was such a disappointment architecturally that it was pointless to develop for it.Believe it or not, because of the Playstation name before Sony didn't have to bribe anyone. Developers flocked to Playstation which is why the PS1 has almost 8,000 titles released for it worldwide and PS2 has almost 4,000.

not a fan of white electronics either, especially ones that typically sit in line of site when using them. at least a black console kind of is "hidden" in the peripheral, but the white one will stick out like a sore thumb. i don't have the line of site issue right now, but still i just think the white ones look dumb/cheap.
not a bad move for ms coming out with all of these $399 bundles that include a game. did they say the COD bundle is only $399 too? that one has a 1tb hdd too.
I was kind of worried about the 500GB hard drive, especially being non-replaceable. But I've got Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Forza, Battlefield, Madden, Fifa, a smattering of smaller indie games and some apps and still have 200+GB left, so it's much less of a concern than I thought. ask me again in two years I suppose.
