I don't know how I feel about Xbox One exclusive coming to PC. I want Forza and Halo on PC but at the same time, why would I buy an Xbox One if this is the case?

I was upset and sort of happy that Dead Rising 3, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse made it to PC but at the same time I was like umm really Microsoft. Why not just port Forza 4 to PC and be done with it. Or port 360 games to PC but not X1 games.

Pretty nifty, although I wasn't too impressed with the Steam version of this... hopefully the Xbox version is better. I can't see me ever using it that often though... maybe to play off my projector or something.
It's more of a convenience method if it works out well, pretty cool to have that option if the main tv is in use.

New Xbox user here. I grabbed the 2 free xbox live gold games from their website. I bought them in case I ever want to install them later. I don't want them in my queue to download. How do I remove them from queue and/or prevent automatically download games?

I only have an xbox one with live gold. Can I not purchase the free 360 games to use if and when they become compatible?

You can, but you have to have a card on-file. You can buy them from the site, but it doesn't let you do MS account payment on there, so even though you aren't charged for the game, you have to tell it to charge a card.

As for auto-download, there's a setting in the console for it, I believe. I can't recall what it is. You might just be better-off letting them auto-install, then deleting them, on the off chance you turn off auto-download, need it, and forget you turned it off, like if you buy a digital title on the PC.

Just for clarity I don't have a 360. Why are the 360 live free downloads different from the one live downloads? I only have paypal on record because I use a debit card instead of a credit card. Plus after the whole sony ordeal I'm reluctant to give anyone my card number.

I know you can select the downloads once they start downloading and pause them but I can't find a auto download disable setting. The reason I ask is because I want to grab live games when they are available and install them at my leisure. Plus my isp has caps .

I have another question. I have the new controller with the 3.5mm headphone jack. I'm using regular stereo headphones. Is there a way to control the volume with the controller or do I need to use a separate physical volume control?

The games on the 360 dont work on the xb1. Later this year a selection of games will work via backwards compatibility but not everything and likely not things on Xbox live arcade. I have psn+ as well and they give out two games for vita, 2 for ps3, and 2 for ps4. They are often different between platforms. For people who have more than one it is a lot of stuff.

For the downloads: Go to Settings, then to "Power and startup," and there's an option for "Automatically download updates and purchases." Uncheck that box, and you should be good. Comcast has a "cap" of 250 GB, but it says on their site that they aren't enforcing it now, and they haven't been since we switched 2-3 years ago. We're usually over 750 GB in used data in a month, but with my cousin having left the house a month ago (he streamed a LOT of Netflix and such), I expect that number to go way down.

With the 360 purchases, I'm not 100% sure the issue. They didn't have the Microsoft Account money thing in-place when the 360 came out. There weren't Xbox money gift cards and such. I guess they've just never integrated that method of purchasing within the 360, or they just haven't tied the 360's gift card purchasing into the site, for whatever reason. I have a debit card on-file with them as well, so you can put that on there, no issue.

The audio stuff, so into Settings, under "Display & audio," and there are sound and chat mixers that they added. I believe I saw in a screenshot/video that they are going to have those settings put onto the dash and/or snappable at some point, after another update. It might be an option already, once you have the new controller and the headset plugged in, I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you. I knew about them slowly adding 360 compatibility for some games. I am/was assuming the 360 games/keys available through Live Gold would work on the One. So you're saying they may or may not work on the Xbox One correct?

I thought that option only pertained to downloading if you didn't select the energy saving power down option. I'll look again.

I think our cap was 250GB but we just got a speed upgrade so it may now be 350GB. I'm not sure if they enforce it in our particular state though. I have a feeling they will after the upgrade. Also, if you have someone watching a ton of netflix change your setting to standand def. It saves tons of bandwidth. https://help.netflix.com/en/node/87

Thanks. That makes sense what you said about the payment method. As far as using a debit card is concerned I've read that they don't have the same protections as a credit card.

I didn't see the mixers so I'll look again. The xbox one seems to have less options to play around with compared to my ps3. I hope that changes in the future.

It MIGHT be that the mixers are only in the newest Preview Dashboard. That would be dumb, to not have that feature ready for everyone by now. I forget I'm in the Preview sometimes, so I get the updates a month early. If you want, either post your GT here or PM it to me, and I can invite you to the Preview next time I'm on my Xbox, and you should get into it.

The games with gold games thus far do not work. It is possible that some of them in the future may. It's up to the publisher. All they need to do is tell Microsoft they want the game to work on the XB1 as well and they can do the rest. Once a game you own digitally on the 360 is available for the XB1 as well, you will see it pop up. You'll be able to download it.

I've yet to encounter any issues. Honestly, I forget I'm in the Preview at times because there's nothing outwardly problematic. You MIGHT get a game/app crash on a rare occasion, but IDK if that's an OS issue.

Ok thanks. I'll see about grabbing them for later use. I guess it can't hurt anything.

those of you who cry about the $60 price of xbox live ... here it is for $30 or less.

http://slickdeals.net/f/7952063-12-...e-gold-membership-digital-delivery-30-or-less
I bought from them a few days back but I haven't entered the code yet. Will it stack on top of the 14 day new xbox one trial card I entered or should I just wait?

Also, when I bought my Xbox One Halo: MCC edition I got a free game and a $50 promo. They had a deal the past few days that added Assassin's Creed Unity on top of that deal. That deal died today but I called in before it ended to see if I could get a free copy. I just received my call back from MS and they agreed to the deal . I hate to admit it but I'm pretty happy with Microsoft today lol.

Or just use Bing Rewards and get it free.
I would not count spending my time with Bing as "free." Don't you have to do like 1000+ searches a month, to earn enough points for Live?

I'm guessing there's a bot for that. Even still, dealing with Bing every single day is not worth the 8 cents per day of actual cash.

It's somewhere in there. It's something that takes maybe 5 minutes/day to complete. People act as if Bing is some kind of troublesome service for search, and it's simply not the case. I switched to it and don't have issues finding things whatsoever.

Except I think the search results page is annoyingly formatted. They tried to copy google and made it look worse.

If someone told me they'd pay me 8 cents to search Bing for 5 minutes, and I had to do it every single day... F that.

Essentially they are paying you less than $1/hour for you to support their website.

Well, when the alternative is to do the same thing for free, I'll take it. I have to search things on the computer anyway. Might as well get out of paying for Xbox LIVE in the process.
