I'm sure it's been mentioned, but this is The ugliest console ever. Looks like a VCR actually.
Which cash grab are you referring to?
The one they have been wanting all along, the one where the game industry is modeled after the successful nickel and dime model of the cell phone service industry.

Oh you mean the one where they sell you memory cards and rumble packs?
If they sold memory cards today you would need a unique memory card for every single game... You couldn't use your Rock Band memory card with your CoD memory card. And they would be $100 each and only have 16k.
They were almost that ridiculous on the first Xbox.
Coincidentally the first Xbox is what started the decline of gaming to the mouth breathing mainstream fodder we have now. Not surprised.
How did that start solely with the first Xbox?
I like how they mention a price cut on it at the very end. Now we know the real reason the sales spiked.
Microsoft has disabled comments for their videos on their Xbox channel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0HgsIf-ps4
You know, I can't help but laugh every time I see that part of COD where the fish move away from you and they're like "OMG THE AI IS SO GREAT GUYS LOOK AT HOW THE FISH MOVE AWAY".
We did something similar in my Intro to Java class where you calculated if the distance between two objects were less than a parameter you set, then you move away from it. ADVANCED AI!
The Xbox One Misses the Perfect Set-Top Box Target

LAWLS.
I guess we all (or at least me) glossed over this. I had asked earlier if this will work with satellite. Of course it will! Because it's ONLY a pass-through. I know the reveal didn't indicate anything differently, but the way Yusif was pants-stiff over his switching of source I figured SURELY there is something more to this than HDMI pass through, like a proper integration of cable so I can throw my cable box away? My 18 month old $250 Sony receiver does the same damn thing (though not with voice prompt).
So basically you tell your xbox to switch sources (something I can do today with a remote on my receiver) and you still need your cable receiver remote to do things.
Lame lame lame.
As before, I still am optimistic that Xbox is going to be a pretty damn good game machine, so fingers crossed for E3, but all this tv nonsense is just that.

The mass adoption of generic 20 year old PC style shooters
the ability to ship now patch later
I saw nothing. I hoped/assumed that given how much damn attention they spent on it that they were advertising something more than HDMI pass through and tacit within the huge amount of time the dude spent showing how it can change sources was something as essential as DVR, even though he didn't indicate there was.I always thought it would still require the cable box and would be basically a pass through with some added functionality within the one as demo'd previously. Did you see something that made you think otherwise until this article came out?
