Wow...just....
Wow
Interesting, apparently the leaker is REALLY well known for getting things right before anyone else.
I actually kind of hope it's true, given Microsoft's policies and anti-gamer/anti-consumer stances. Go down in flames, Xbone, rise again next gen.
I've never seen such a stream of self-inflicted chaos before at any console launch.
MS is is basically putting out all the dirty laundry now so that it they can just show the highlights on the X1 at E3 and that is what the mass media will see. That is the only reason we got the info we did from them today, because there is nothing positive in those bullet points, Each one of those "features" has a negative of some sort.
Sony is in a very interesting position. They could make a big focus point of how they will not require internet access and allow games to be sold/traded/etc like they have been (both of which they confirmed) and basically turn that bad light right back at MS and get the media's attention on it. They could do this with minimal effort and time spent at their conference as a bullet point when they run down some of the features of the system.
In all my years of gaming (around 29 now), the X1 is the first console launch I am not excited for in any way, shape, or form. I've outright wanted a console to fail like I do this one as well. There is too much anti consumerism crap going on here to want to see this have success. If it does have success it is going to pave the road to screw us all over more so in the future.

The company has now said in a statement that games can be traded in, but only at "participating retailers".
Games can be freely passed on to friends, Microsoft added, but only once.
"Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends," the statement said.
"There are no fees charged as part of these transfers.
"There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once."
yes, we've been discussing this for about 1/2 a day now.
Lol my bad these damn treads go so fast its hard to keep up. In the long run I will own both consoles, but anyone who thinks Sony is not going to have something along the lines of M$ with the used games is delusional
At this point, why stay with consoles? I get all the shitty DRM of PC games, but still have to pay higher prices for my games and pay for Xbox live. I can build a gaming rig for $700, and when all is said and done would probably break even when you consider the cost of gold. Plus, I can plug it in to my tv and use a wireless controller.
I really wonder if people will actually boo during MS's press conference.hah yeah, the "convenience" that is a huge selling point on consoles for me seems to be getting further away now with the x1.
i won't be able to just go to redbox down the street and snag a game to play now.
i won't be able to play games without "installing" them.
i won't be able to play games without "registering" them to myself.
definitely going to be an interesting e3!!

What makes you think they'll go anywhere near this subject at E3.
Of course not. The issues are only problems to people on forums and the majority of people don't care. We see this with every "unpopular" position any gaming company takes. The internet gets all upset, and the game sells millions of copies. Remember the boycott Modern Warfare 2 garbage? "EA refuses to give PC gamers dedicated servers. Let's boycott their game." Yeah, well they all bought it anyway. Remember the D3 "outrage" about it being always online? Yeah, it sold 8.5 million copies outright plus another 1.5 million for the yearly WoW subscription deal. Remember the worst company in America vote? Yeah, EA beat out a company that illegally foreclosed on people and lost customers money with bad investments they didn't notify the customers about. Oh, but EA makes games I don't like, clearly they are a worse company.
The reality is most people don't care about used games, always online internet, and what console has the highest GPU clock or more theoretical memory throughput. They care about which console lets them play games and possibly have other entertainment value. They care about which game their friends will get. They care about actually playing games and not a bunch of what ifs.
why would they be delusional? there has been 0 news pointing at it, and infact the exact opposite, coming from sony stating they ARENT doing it.
and it's a terrible TERRIBLE idea that is awful for consumers.
so why would one be delusional?
My thing is look at what EA did getting rid of online passes for this gen, I think this is a smoke screen bc they know they will be making more money nextgen with the used game fees. EA being the biggest game publisher(i Think) isnt gonna just go for that fee on one console if they can hound PS4 users as well. Everyone is up in arms at M$ this is something publishers want.
