Man Ryse looks gay as hell. If motion detection was perfect then these games start to make sense. But instead you just get pissed the system misses what you're doing. Takes the fun out of it.

With buttons... you know if you really missed the right button combination, with motion you (I) tend to blame the system.

Xbox Live is a reason to buy an Xbox, not a reason to avoid it lol

Xbox live is the main reason I've only played my 360 a handful of hours, and is now collecting dust, disconnected on a shelf. It's also a reason I'll probably never get a Durango or whatever it is until it's outdated, just to have it in my collection. I don't see enough value in the 360 library to pay for ANOTHER service on top of my internet.

Proprietary currency ALWAYS sucks. You're always left over with certain amounts which is money you can't use.

No, it makes everything much more affordable because the majority of points I've ever purchased have been 20%+ off. It doesn't matter if there are a few extra sitting around in there, I'll use them eventually.

If they ran 20% off sales, it would be just as affordable.

Enjoy your 20% off. I'll be checking what games on Steam are 75% off this week.

There are Xbox Live sales, and I've purchased 50% off content with 25% off points. The discounts stack up nicely.

And yes, Steam has good sales, I've bought from them. How is that relevant to the new Xbox?

I'll be taking a long lunch that day and will be going home and watching it on Spike. Then I can spend the afternoon discussing it. I like what Major Nelson said too.

"On that day, we'll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we'll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games," said Xbox's community guru Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb.

Hey look, they talked about games. I guess they didn't forget that they were a game console, even if haters wanted to believe they did.

Had a thought in the shower this morning regarding the physical/digital/used game conundrum. Has probably already been discussed, sorry if it has, but its not often I have a brainwave in the shower. Who would be in for this if it happened?

You had two options to buy new games. Buy a physical disc copy like normal or a digital version through XBL. The physical copy would still be $60-70, and the digital would be, say, $40-50(have to hammer out that detail).

The digital copy would of course fully install to your hard drive. The physical copy could ALSO be FULLY installed to your hard drive, and you wouldn't need the disc to play it if you input the optional "activation code" that it came with. Basically like an online pass, but it would allow you to not need your disc anymore. Or you could leave the code unused, allowing you to sell the used game in the future if you wanted, but you wouldn't have the convenience of being able to switch to the game on the fly without having to put in the disc(which would be a big selling point for me, being able to jump from game to game without having to get up). A new "activation code" could be purchased on XBL if needed which would probably cost a fair bit, much more than the $10 online pass replacement, since you'd basically be buying the full game. Or this option would not exist more likely.

This situation would almost encourage people to buy the digital version, which would actually start the digital-download-only future the console makers want, and also save us gamers a little money and do away with the pesky used game sales they also hate.

The motivation for the game publishers to price the digital version cheaper would be to encourage people to buy that and get rid of used games entirely. So asking what incentive they'd have to price the DD version cheaper, there it is.

As a gamer I would do this if they discounted the digital version, which I guess is the entire premise of this thought. I'm wondering if this is how they plan to slowly get rid of used games and eventually physical copies entirely?

I have been saying for a long time that the digital day one stuff makes no sense, since I am still paying full price. There is no reason that I should pay full price since they didn't have to pay for the disc, case, and shipping to a store.

And I don't think MS will be going in as much as sony will on the digital side, but that isn't really a bad thing. If they continue to focus on physical media next gen, then they will get the big retailers backing them.

But what happens if I buy the disc, and just pass it around to my friends after activation? Or if I buy the disc and sell the activation code? Effectively, that is two copies of a game for the price of one. Publishers won't agree to that. And pricing of digital versus physical copies will remain the same to keep it even across the board and the required infrastructure would require an investment they could argue was worth that $10 per game.

Sony isn't going total digital, they're just giving Indie devs a place to publish and should be releasing every game on digital so if you want to, just pre-load it. It's a smart idea really, I mean...steam works great for that stuff on PC.

Dang, didn't think of that.

They already do that.

All the EA sports titles (even for consoles) have online activation codes which allow only one user to play online. If you take that game to your friends house and they don't have that certain EA sports title, you can't play online. The games still sell like hotcakes.

I think BF3 was similar in this regard

I'm pretty sure those activation codes are tied to your profile and not your Xbox. So if you go to a friends house, you can play online as long as you log in with your own profile. It's very easy to do, especially with the cloud storage Microsoft gave to every profile.

The other player can play as a guest.
