Nope, my work can be pretty crazy. It's like I work in a prison. Oh wait...I do. No worries, I will check it out when I get home tonight.

Interesting, as corroboration of this name, people are pointing at this link which currently includes this text:
"Play a Game (includes X8)"
X8 is assumed to be an abbreviation for Xbox Infnity.
Well, just to add a little fuel, Paul Thurrott claims that the next Xbox will be built upon Windows 8. It would make sense if they want to do the forced kinect interface. I mean, you have a virtual touch screen. What do you think?

I think they'll be using the Win8 Kernel on it. I'd rather be surprised if they didn't. As far as forced kinect I still think that's FUD. I think they'll push it, but it's just another way of interacting with it, not the only way.
I mean the interface. Like WIndows 8 touch UI except you don't have to touch the screen, just point to the spot on your tv and the kinect should pick it up and do what you intend. I think it'll suck to do it this way and be inaccurate, but interesting anyway. Still think using the controller will be better.
Of course there will be forced kinect but of course it won't be the only way to interact with it, they will still have the same basic controller.
Even if it comes with a connect, I highly doubt it will be forced. Companies, presumably with dev kits, have already come out against using it. Dice stated they won't be incorporating it until it moves past gimmick stage.
It does this already and works really well. The only iffy thing is voice input.

Currently, the console will support digital rights management and anti-piracy checks using an internet connection. Under Microsoft's current guidelines, which may still be changed, the decision of whether a game will require an internet connection to work and if that is a one-time authentication or a constant connection, will be left up to individual publishers.
The next Xbox rethinks DRM, Achievements and Xbox Live friends, our sources say
Ugh, this doesn't sound very promising, but I'll wait for official info. I certainly won't purchase any games that require always-online DRM.
You can pretty much guarantee that EA and Ubisoft will require an always on connection.

There are games that already require always online and MS can't limit that. It is based on the publishers / developers and not the console itself.
Where in the hell in that entire argument were we discussing PSN at all? My argument from the beginning was that Xbox Live was not worth paying extra for.
I get it, you are one of those people who doesn't want to pay for anything. $4 is nothing, and if people didn't think it was worth it, they wouldn't pay for it...
Paying $4 for XBL is paying for nothing which is precisely why we don't want to do it. Unless you consider paying for peer-to-peer or the right to use the Netflix you already paid for to be 'something'.
So then don't pay it, and don't come into threads about the Xbox just to talk about a service you refuse to pay for.Paying $4 for XBL is paying for nothing which is precisely why we don't want to do it. Unless you consider paying for peer-to-peer or the right to use the Netflix you already paid for to be 'something'.
if it's paying for nothing, tell me how else to play against millions of people online on xbox 360 with the quality that comes with live?
and the analogy that you are giving is tired. that is like saying i already paid for my computer, why should i pay to use the internet? i pay for the internet, why should i have to pay for netflix? i own the bluray for the hobbit, why should i have to pay amazon prime to stream it?
the simple fact of the matter is that xbox live is a service, just like netflix or any of the other crap. if the service is not worth $4/mo to you then fine, but to say it is "nothing" is just flat out false.
and you don't "have" to pay for xbox live to use netflix. there are tons of other ways to watch netflix without paying for xbox live.
