Wow OK, so let's break it down.

The Good:

1.)The Kinect stuff was pretty cool but I have absolutely no use for it lol. I don't watch TV as much for it to make a difference. The gestures and commands were pretty awesome to watch though.
2.) 15 exclusive titles in the first year

The Bad:
1.) They only showcased 2 of the 15 exclusive games...All of the EA and Activision crap is going to come on the PS4 as well.
2.) Too much TV stuff happening for a game console...I hated it when they kept saying "Living Room Device." Motherfucker I play games in my room, usually alone so no one bothers me.
3.) I have a suspicion that Xbox One is weaker than the PS4. I know right of the bat that Xbox One has 8 GB DDR3 memory or they would have touted it like Sony did. If the rumors are true the GPU will probably weaker too.
4.) Ugly ass design but at least they showed the box lol.

This.

I'll wait until they're $99 or less in a few years used, just to play the handful of decent exclusives. I have tons of other great games to play in the meantime.

I just saw this thread on neoGAF, if true Xbox is dead to me.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=560478

LOL

It's a harsh way to put it but...I can totally see it.

As for the bit about "plan for resale" I see a way they can do that. You can buy the game used and Microsoft dictates a cut from Gamestop or whoever. Then you get a code that gives you a one time activation. So Microsoft gets cash directly out of the pocket of Gamestop this way. So that $44.99 game isn't all cash profit to Gamestop anymore, a percentage goes directly to MS.

The only sticking point is how does MS know you traded the disk? You could potentially install it then trade it in. Unless after an unspecified time they request you to put the activation code back in. In which case you don't have it since the disk is gone. I see ways they could work it, but it'll have to rely on Gamestop and other used game resellers playing ball by Microsoft's rules.

Either you have to verify you own the disc every 30 days or as soon as someone else sticks the game into their system, it's removed from your account.

Even the 360 hasn't hit $99. :whiste:

Technically it is but you gotta sign up for XBL 2 years at $15/month. Not really $99 overall but $99 out the door will get you the console after you sign up to get billed.

Either you have to verify you own the disc every 30 days or as soon as someone else sticks the game into their system, it's removed from your account.

Unless there's a prompt that says "did you buy this game new or used?" and you click used and have to pay a $10 fee or something. If you click new you gotta enter the license code for the new game which once entered will immediately invalidate any previous install using the same code.

Loads of ways to go about it.

Xbox twitter account said the used game fee is false. I'll try to find the tweet.

If that's the case then how do they prevent you from giving your friend the game and he installs it and you both have the game? Unless...it's like it works now. You still need the disk in there but it reads everything off the HDD once the disk is verified.

I love how pages ago I posted links of MS detailing the fee rumor was false and that you can do everything you can with used games as you can now. Yet, ofc people still can't read well enough to understand that.

The problem is that there are people talking to various people at Microsoft that are getting different responses. They need an Orth-style crackdown!

I'm skeptical as to weather the xbox really has 5 billion transistor as it was shown in the slides...

Let's think about this for a second:

A hd 7850, which looks like it will be the gpu of choice, has 2.8 billion transistors, part of which are disabled; I'd say the custom 7850-ish chip will have around 2.3~2.5 billion transistors.

Add whatever amount of esram/edram/cache/whatever there will be, and you're left with what's probably at least 2 billion transistors for the cpu. I don't know how beefy an 8 core jaguar is going to be, but an 8 core vishera with an extra 8mb of L3 cache, which the xbox's cpu won't have, has 1.2 billion transistors.

So .. where are the extra hundreds of millions of transistors going to? Are they counting the transistors inside the kinect's cpu too? DO they also count the transistors inside the memory modules?

Can anyone help me out here? I'm confused...

I don't know? I'm not going to make shit up, so I'll just link the tweet.

https://twitter.com/XboxSupport3/status/336924786410278912
Read:
"The bits that are on that disc, you can give it to your friend and they can install it on an Xbox One," he said. "They would then have to purchase the right to play that game through Xbox Live."

"They would be paying the same price we paid, or less?" we asked.

"Let’s assume it’s a new game, so the answer is yes, it will be the same price," Harrison said.

But that doesn't mean used games are dead. In fact, Harrison told us, you'll be able to sell your Xbox One games online.

"We will have a solution—we’re not talking about it today—for you to be able to trade your previously-played games online," Harrison said.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update - Microsoft's Larry Hryb has issued the following clarification:

Another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile.

Game is tied to your account.

Man why is the Kinect included with it? I never got a Kinect for a reason...I don't want one. I'd rather get a cheaper console without the Kinect.

ok and what about if my xbox1 is offline and i install a game, and my brothers xbox1 is offline, and he installs the same game from the disc, and neither of us ever go online. how is ms going to stop that?

i still think this is all bullshit. i'd be shocked if they really make you enter a damn key and install every game BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN PLAY IT. that takes away a lot of the convenience of a console to me and makes it more pc like.

and to be honest, if that is the case, i will definitely think twice about purchasing this console.

but again, not gonna get my panties in a bunch like many here have since there isn't anything official, a lot of speculation and people saying they heard this from a friend of a friend who talked to someone at ms.

Are you serious man? This is official coming from the horses mouth.

They will control this because you have to activate the game online on your live account before you play it. Also your console has a once every 24 hour login DRM in it. Read the links I posted above.
