50ms or below isn't too bad. At 60Hz, you're only about 3 frames behind, which could be bad for fighting games where pros actually take note of exact timings; however, a lot of other games or even harder games played casually should be fine. Before I'm willing to lavish it with any praise, I would really need to see the picture quality as well.
WOW I Did not think of that...yeah is it the same image quality as owning the disk and playing it on the actual hardware is a great question as well.
i wonder why we didn't have these resolution discussions back in the nes snes/genesis psx/saturn days. even though our tv's could only output 1 resolution, not all games were at that resolution, yet it never seemed to be a problem back then lol.
I knew that before but it doesn't matter to me. The dev tools aren't final and are a little behind still. No big deal.
I just mean I am ready for the change. The ps4 and xb1 will be loads better than what we have had for 9 years. The games will look phenomenal for sure anyway.
Oh for sure. Even the XB1 with the bleh DDR3 will be a stratospheric upgrade over PS3/360.
It's just a bit disappointing in many ways. You have a 670SLI rig in your sig, that will utterly dominate the new consoles in gaming performance, but of course the exclusives on console make it worthwhile. Particularly racing, fighting, sports, platformers. Forza is the sole reason I might pick up an XB1 at some point.
It doesn't fool us, but you take the average joe, and they will not see the deception.
Yeah, forza isn't on pc nor is knack, killzone, dead rising 3, halo, destiny, killer instinct. Plus nba2k14 will have an larger following on console vs PC as will ultra street fighter 4, madden if I decide to get that too.

I mean if you are here you care something about these systems, but you claim to not care about any games that won't be on the PC. So are you just here to try trolling or what?
Myself I have a really good PC as you can see in my sig, but as a gamer and a fan of video games in general I can clearly see when a PC is just not going to cut it on its own. There are a ton of great titles we won't get and other games who's online community (the real meat of the game in some cases) is just too small and it warrants buying it for a console instead. If you can't see the same then I don't know what you're doing here with the attitude that "none of the console exclusives interest me and I can get everything else on PC" type of response.
ill be EXTREMELY shocked if ultra sf4 does not come to ps4/xbox1. i'd probably only get it just so i could get my 360 out of the media rack. i don't really plan on getting it for 360 though.
Why you got to get all bent out of shape like they are your work? It was an observation. There are plenty of console games I love, those just happen to not be them. You of all people should know this considering I've made it pretty clear in multiple threads. In fact....other than the fact I could hack the Xbox and use it for other things, I didn't care for the actual released games on it either. That says something when you can basically pirate any game you wish and don't even find them desirable enough to do that. That doesn't mean I don't have the right to show interest or disappointment in upcoming releases.

So, once again we see confirmation that the E3 demos were largely FOS. We know that BF4 was definitely a game that was run on PC at the time, but now it looks like the QTE fest known as Ryse was also being run on inflated hardware as well.
Graphics on PS4 may be better than X1, but it won't be by much. We've already been over all of the reasons why, but the main one you need to understand is cross platform developers are not going to take the time to go the extra mile for one console over the other. They will develop for the lowest common denominator and call it a day.
Both consoles will be a massive leap from the current generation. What you should be focusing on are game libraries and all of the extra features/content available to you from each platform.
Look at how great games like Uncharted, God of War, and The Last of Us look on PS3 compared to games on the 360.
I'm tired of all this hardware talk. Graphics on next-gen games will be good, I really don't care how many resolutions and polygons it's pushing. I play a game like GTA V and drive up to the observatory and look out over the city...it's beautiful. Framerates don't matter, how many *p's it's running at doesn't matter, how much AA is applied doesn't matter. It's a beautiful game...on a 360. We're guaranteed better on the X1.
