just fyi there is a dr3 demo on xbl now. dling now and it's going pretty slow. its 7gb.

Just finished DR3. My only gripes with it are the dodge roll being the left analog stick (click it to roll). I'd prefer that be somewhere else. I did it accidently sometimes and not at all other times. The camera occasionally got stuck and I could not see well. Other than that it was pretty fun, frustrating bosses that feel cheap but once you get the patterns you can be cheap on them, but the game was fun.

It is no different than earlier games. Nintendo hard is just a cute name for games that had invisible walls that killed you in one hit, spots were if you hadn't been there a few times before to memorize the exact patterns were impossible, and other incredibly cheap mechanisms for making their game difficult. Top Gun isn't hard, except the "QTE" landing / refueling is terrible, as the controls don't seem to accept inputs in time to pass it. And then we get some artificially long games because you have to replay certain levels over and over until you run out of lives. All just leftover from the arcade days. Games were meant to suck quarters from you, ask SmashTV.

Lol SmashTV...i remember that game. My friend and I would load it up on SNES and pop it in with game genie for infinite lives to beat it.

Hard as it's meant to be is Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox and Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360 (sigma 2 on the PS3). It relied on your reflexes and timing to win. Nothing was cheap, everything could be beaten with good dodge timing, proper blocking, and knowing when to attack and when to move.

Never played it in the arcade. It couldn't have been worse than Double Dragon 3 where you actually have to buy weapons and health items with real money by putting in more quarters.

Will Microsoft ever realize most gamers don't want Kinect and release Xbone without it?

They obviously want it enough, because the Xbox has sold over 2 million units, Kinect included. But, I'm sure they aren't missing your sale.

You know, I don't even feel bad responded to trolls anymore.

Why? It's selling fine and you know, people can just never plug it in. At least this way they get it out there and knowing every system has a Kinect with it, they can try to sell it to developers.

Just got my xbox one, playing DR3 now (only game I bought so far). As a fan of the first two, I am enjoying this one though the boss fights seem kind of difficult out of nowhere until I learned the controls better. I like that you have plenty of time to free roam.

Tried the KI demo, seems pretty neat, but only did some training before jumping into DR3. The one's interface is pretty different than the ps4 so far, but I kind of like it - it seems more enjoyable (?). Can't wait to try some 'xbox record that'.

On a side note, several times I paused the game and found that the kinect heard a noise that unpaused it - the culprit was my garbage disposal, lol. Kind of disappointed with the 'next gen' look of flat textures on buildings and cars, but the ps4 does that a bit too in killzone. I really hope this gen takes off as they harness the power more like what has happened with every gen.

DR3 has a Kinect sensitivity problem for sure. Almost any loud noise will be registered as "back", which gets a bit annoying.

The textures are a bit dated, but that is due to Capcom wanting to have a thousand zombies on screen at once, and it shows. You can get jam packed with zombies.

You're right... We all hate Kinect.

I especially hate it when I walk into the room at night, say "Xbox on", nd Kinect turns on my Xbox, my TV, my A/V receiver, and my DirecTV receiver. And then logs my profile in, all before I even pick up my controller.

It sucks.

You ain't lying. I found myself overwhelmed at times having to go down tight spots loaded with zombies. I can't wait to get my levels and blueprints up so I can plow those suckers down.

Also after playing for a few hours, I noticed the xbox was dead silent and super cool to the touch. Color me impressed.

Yeah it is sensitive. I turned kinect features off except for change clothes in dr3.

The only thing I dont like about "Xbox record that" is it is only 30sec and I wish I could set it to 3 min and trim it myself. I sometimes like to show my friend some neat stuff you can do in games but I need more than a couple min. On the ps4 I can record 15min and upload it. I wonder if the xb1 will allow us to do that eventually as well.

Pretty much my thoughts. I seriously considered getting it at launch but decided to hold off. After playing the demo, it's just not appealing to me to continually blast through hordes of zombies. The demo got old for me very, very quickly, I didn't even last the 20 minutes.

Record that is only 30 seconds. But you can go to the game DVR and do up to 5 previous minutes. Also the start record can do up to 30 minutes I think.

How is everybody liking the XBone controller?

I only tried it for 10mins or so but I didn't like it as much as the 360 controller. I think they just tried to save as much plastic as they could, which isn't really a bad thing, but the controller takes a hit because of it. Overall I don't think I'll even remember the difference down the road... but right now it is obvious.

I'm liking it. The only thing I dislike are the shoulder bumpers. They take a bit getting used to to hit while holding down the trigger with your index finger. I suppose I could go back to middle finger on the triggers.

Interesting, I like it more as a whole and the sticks and triggers feel much better in my hands. The only thing I don't like is the shoulder bumpers feel cheaper/weaker somehow.

I think it's just the sharper angle of the grips that gets me. The thumbsticks are better, but it just feels more forced to hold it a certain way.

Overall, it wouldn't stop me from buying.
