The troll accidentally brought up a decent point on the Kinect.
Including Kinect with the Xbox One was a smart move by MS, since it helps improve their margins a bit, so that they lose slightly less on each Xbox One sold. This also helped make sure that Kinect gets a more healthy install base, and is less likely to be abandoned by developers, even if MS decides to release a Kinect-less Xbox One in the future.
It seemed like a smart move, overall, that didn't effect demand in a meaningful way... since demand still far outstrips supply.
Meanwhile, Sony's margins aren't quite as good as MS's, by around 10 dollars or so, because they didn't include a camera, and their PS4 camera is going to have a weaker initial install base.
I don't think it'll hurt the PS4 a great deal, since it would still make business sense to port successful Kinect games to the PS4 (since doing so should be pretty inexpensive to do), but less devs will want to take a risk on the PS4 Camera as a primary target, due to Sony's missed opportunity to get a better camera install base.
While everyone likes to hate on Kinect, including it was the stronger initial business decision. MS can always release a Kinect-less Xbox One if their numbers eventually show the price of bundling a Kinect negatively effecting sales... which shouldn't happen for a whiiile.
