and dirty!!!!

I want to hear a "here here"

One thing I'm happy about is there was no WWW (I didn't want to say no internet for the sticklers) around when I was a teen in that I'd probably be tied to a PC....

I had fun.........

EDIT

This thread is a good read through. Glad I started it.

If there had been that much pr0n readily available to me when I was in my formative years, its very possible that I would be a COMPLETE pervert now, instead of 90% pervert.

Oh Yeah kids, you dont really know anything till you hit 35.

S&F, I was the exact same way.. Every day out on the bike. I was born and raised, and still live in NY. Dead of winter, snow, didn't matter. Bike was out.... From when I was allowed across the street until the car.....

Jackass guy.

Yes there was, when it was good. Bob Backlund, Iron Sheik, Jimmy Snuka, Magnificent Muraco, George the animal... I could go on and on....

Sluggo, yes, I understand that point completely. All men are perverts anyway, I bet even in the colonial days. (Sheep have been getting it for centuries. Isn't that how humans first got syphillis?) Gross.

44 yrs old, only 4 channels on black and white and one(cbc,Canadians wouldn't you know) didn't even come on 'til 3 p.m. My kids shake their heads when I tell them every boy carried a pocket knife to school. And, we never knocked on doors of our friends house, just yelled their name in a sing song kinda way. Its funny now if one of my kid's friends was standing outside our house yelling at the top of their lungs I'd be at the door in a second asking "What the h3ll are you doing"

I can one up most on this board, I can remember B&W TV with ONE channel. It wasn't until I was a teenager that we were able to pick up a 2nd channel, that is more of a factor of southern Oregon then anything else. If it weren't for the mountains we would have been able to get 2 or 3 channels.

I was old enough to have bought Pong for my kids, instead I got a AppleII+, We had lots of good games. My sons were working on Ultima III when they were 6yrs old. (Now they are 23 and 21(nearly)) Both are still into gaming and computers, one BSCE from CMU and not far from a BS CS from Lehigh.

(No I am not proud of them in the least!)

Not only did we only have 4 channels but they all went off the air at 1am by playing the national anthem and then either throwing up a test pattern or just turning off the transmitter. Also at that time TV's and stereos (Hi Fi's) were pieces of huge furniture in a lot of cases.

The good old days of the 60s.

Watching the riots on TV (B/W on one of two channels) and thinking the rioters were having a good time. Viewing the Vietnam war and the daily reports of the US casualties on CBS. Rotary dial telephones.

Space Ghost and HotWheels was the bomb back then. Batman was on Wednsday and Thursday evenings.

Yes, I rode my bike all the time too......... on a dirt road. No internet. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was below 1000.

Everybody smoked cigarettes everywhere ........... in stores, in hospitals, in government buildings.

I remember begging my parents to get cable when I was 13-ish so I could get MTV and watch Duran Duran. I sat and watched it on my old 13" Curtis Mathis black and white television, making occasional copies with our Beta VCR.

I'm not 35 yet, but too damn close. 34 in a couple of months, ugh.

33 here, 34 next month

I remember B&W TVs, we had one until 1975 because my dad insisted we wait until the price on color sets went down. 4 channels was all we got, and that was in LA. And yeah, I remember when they would go off the air at 1 or 3 AM.

My father had a HiFi from the late fifties that still sounded great in the 70s. It used vacuum tubes, they were separate components and my father built a tower to hold them. (He was a classical music freak)

8Tracks LPs and cassette tapes. What the heck are CDs?

We had the first pong game on the neighborhood, and the first Atari 2600. We had the first PC in '78-'79(home built Heathkit) and the first IBM PC in '81. (My father was an engineer at TRW, and was a complete geek)

EVERYBODY smoked EVERYWHERE. You didn't notice the smell like you do now.

Cash registers were mechanical, and actually made that CHA CHING noise.

The BMX craze had just begun while I was in grade school. I converted my Schwinn Stingway into a BMX bike in 5th grade, and my dad bought me a Redline in 7th grade.

When we finally got cable, MTV HAD MUSIC ON IT!

I saw Van Halen at a local concert BEFORE they put out their first album. Blue Oyster Cult used to play at Magic Mountain (before Six Flags bought it). So did Quiet Riot... Before Ozzy killed their guitarest.

Gawd I hated New Wave music!

Smokey and the Bandit was cool, and so was Hooper. When I grew up, I wanted to be a stunt man
