don't want to be bothered with adjusting my monitor continuously. I like it where everything is sized perfectly and ready to play with no fiddling.
Rogue if you adjust your screen once it'll permanently remember the settings. If the picture changes it's because you've switched from 2D to 3D mode and/or your refresh rate has changed. In that case all you need to do is adjust it again and the next time you enter this new mode it'll be remembered as normal.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that if your picture is off centre it's because your monitor has never seen that kind of signal before and when you adjust it, the next time it sees that signal it'll bring up your stored settings.
The GF4 is faster in all of them, but the GF3 may well be faster at this one."
When did I ever say that my Ti500 was faster than your Ti4400 Rollo? This argument isn't even about a GF3 Ti500 vs GF4 Ti4400 comparison. Please, learn to comprehend what you're reading.
I didn't say it "never" crawled b.
Then how can I be arguing with you right at this moment if you didn't imply this? You sure as hell didn't agree with me that Undying causes even the fastest video cards to crawl in some places at 1600 x 1200 x 32 because if you did, neither of us would be here right now.
you implied it always crawls c.
I did no such thing. I said that it sometimes crawls.
that your "point" seems to be reduced to "Well, it will crawl in the snowy monastery level when those 38 monster appear, if you have it at 16X12X32, trilinear, your card clocked at stock speeds, your memory timing set to CAS 3, etc ad infinitum" is a heap big joke, BCGK.
Why is it a joke? Is it true or not? Will your card crawl at 1600 x 1200 x 32 in certain parts of Undying or not?
You claimed "no" which is why this whole thing started.
It really didn't make a big difference (OCing) in this ancient game
It'll make a difference in the tougher areas of the game but I agree, even with your overclocked settings it'll probably still crawl in those places at 1600 x 1200 x 32.
It is well known in the gaming community that the ability to show fps in Undying is the BEST indicator of gaming knowledge.
I really don't care how much you know or don't know about the game until you start making claims that would require more knowledge than you have. That is my issue with your comments.
Your argument is about as "logical" as me saying,"Your Ti 500 crawls on Q3. IF you max all setting, run a demo that plays the level with most/biggest textures, has been programmed to put 100 opponents firing rocketlaunchers simultaneously on the screen at once, it will crawl. I'm right, you're wrong, I've just given you an instance where Q3 will crawl"
You are 100% correct and I don't see any issue with your comment at all (other than the fact that I was talking about Undying playing the level under normal conditions). In fact, I'd say the same thing you did if the situation required it.
Did you somehow think that I would object to your comment? If you did, why? I told you that I tell it like it is and I don't have an emotional attachment to my card, nor am I delusional about what it can and can't do.
I'm sure with 100 opponents my Ti500 will easily crawl in Quake3 at 1600 x 1200 x 32 and like I said before, I completely agree with you.
