The Patriot or Braveheart?

leave for an hour and you miss a lot

Ill admit that some parts of the Patriot were the same as Braveheart and that it was also cliched some of the time. Braveheart may have been the original but maybe it was the dark moods in Braveheart that sided me over to the Patriot.

I like both, but i loved the axe bit in the patriot, and it was filmed right around here.

Braveheart by far, the first time I watched it the ending choked me up and was very well done. Patriot, blah besides the reoccuring need to kill off a son to further the plot wasn't to moving.

The Patriot was to much like Braveheart, thats why I dont like it at all, a sad attempt by the writer and director to make a hit movie. Remember when the guy on the horse came riding toward mel gibson and he attacked the horse instead of the man... remember wich film it was in? IT WAS In bOTH.

So true...I noticed that the first time I watched it.

Don't get your history from movies, for you won't learn any history...

Both are based on fact and both butcher the truth for the sake of a hollywood storyline.

Braveheart is a much better film and captures much more of the heart and soul of the story it is trying to tell than The Patriot. Mel Gibson had much less to do with The Patriot and so he wasn't able to shape it to his particular tastes like he did with Braveheart. The Patriot was really more about the special effects than Braveheart and that took away from the story. The two love stories in Braveheart were much better as well. I thought there were several parts of The Patriot plot that felt contrived and throw in. The Braveheart storyline was much more cohesive and provocative. Braveheart is one of my favorite movies of all time and The Patriot pales in comparison.

I loved the movie the Patriot .. was really good .. despite the fact that two main "Americans" weren't really Americans ... lol
