this is a list of people who got screwed by paypal, add your name if you have.

Hope this list will peruade people that paypal is unreliable and there are many cases that are left in benefit of the fraudulent user.


Paypal takes the phrase "No sale is ever final" to a whole new perspective. So be aware that transactions from months ago, can easily come back and haunt as it did with MANY ex-paypal users on anandtech. So if you dont ever want to see you're name on this list, especially for Veterans who used this alot like me, close you're account while you still can, you never know what lies in the future. The more transactions you did, the greater probability and bigger debt you will be in.

no one ever gets their money back. i think paypal is just scamming us innocent people because they are a SH!THOLE company.

(i'm still bitter over my chargebacks! :|)

I've been following the threads you folks have started/replied to.

To say the least, I'm VERY leary of PayPal now.

But what I wanted to say here is...If you're going add youself to this 'list', please also give a brief description of why.

Maybe they will finally increase his hard drive capacity... That way he can store more than one redundant responce.

My account was frozen for having two accounts from the same address opened. The account had 470 dollars in it and it took me more than a month to get my account unfrozen so I could get my money. Paypal sucks.

I am sorry to hear of your issues. Did you have two personal accounts open? This is a violation of our terms of use and why there would have been a restriction on the account.

The problem I keep hearing is the same and it is why I keep responding with the same information.

"How do I accept credit card payments, but how am I not liable for charge backs related to credit card transactions?"

The answer is one and the same--the Seller Protection Program. As long as you follow it---you will not be liable for charge backs and you won't have to fear losing the money.

hey you bot, Why won't paypal allow me to link my second credit card/checking acct to my paypal ACCt? It keeps saying that the address is invalid, and thats bull, its a weekold account, the address is good.

I haven't been able to use paypal for months, I got a new debit card, added it then they said the address didn't match. I faxed all my info in, bank statements, photocopied id etc and still they couldn't let me use it. All told, phone calls, emails, fax, they just said, well too bad just try something else, which I won't do.

Yes Damon, that is the reason my account was restricted. The problem I have with Paypal, and the reason I think it sucks is because it took countless phone calls, unanswered emails, and more than a month to get my 470 dollars back. It should have taken a few days to get it cleared up, not a month.

Thats because there Customer Service Sucks!

You would think with all that money Paypaldamon says they make they could afford more then 2 employees to answer phones and e-mail.

I was calling Paypal so much that I was forced to upgrade my account to a premier just so I would have access to the 1800 number. If you just have a personal account they make you call them long distance. I could get the CS on the phone but they could never do anything for me, all they did was tell me to email a department and wait for them to reply. I emailed the department many times but it took weeks to get one single reply. I should be able to get it cleared up over the phone, and not have to wait for somebody to email me when they're holding my 470 dollars ransom. Paypal is ok when you have no problems, but when you do it's gonna be hell to get them fixed.

Eventhough there wasn't a lot of activity with my paypal acct. I closed it anyway after reading all the horror stories here. My sympathies to those screwed by paypal.

Palpal for whatever reason restricted my account because of "suspicious activity".... yet I write back to them asking what the activity is/was, and their reply is that they found none.

Yet they STILL wanted me to fax them (to some none toll free fax number) my credit card and drivers license along with a social security number.

So my account remains in "Restricted Access", and I'm not allowed to close the account because of it.

What a joke for a company PayPal is. They have to lure people in with free money just to get you to use it. Their customer service is pathetic, and their attitude stinks.
