The outcomes are absolutely going to be horrific. I just will have no filter when it comes to telling pissed off/horrified Trump voters that the policy is exactly what he said he would do and they voted for the outcome.
We know someone who has a child with severe medical issues. They proudly voted for Trump if the pre-existing conditions coverage requirement is eliminated they will be bankrupt within months. I feel awful for the child but apparently we need a very very painful object lesson.
Not telling you anything you don't know, but two points.
One, the horrific outcomes will affect the entire country, and even the world. Sure, it'll help if you live in a blue state and aren't personally affected but there are plenty of Kamala Harris voters everywhere who will suffer as well.
Second, we got a little lucky last time because DJT is such a shitty CEO and there were some guardrails (John Kelly, etc.). Outside of federal courts and the minority Dems in Congress, we will have no such luck this time. So the limiting factor appears to be the depths of Trump and his team's depravity (hello Stephen
Himmler Miller).
It seems unlikely that they'll axe "pre-existing conditions" but who the fuck knows how they'll decide to "pay for" moar tax breaks for corporations and billionaires.
One third and final point. I sincerely doubt the electorate is capable of learning from very painful lessons. They still haven't figured out that Reaganomics doesn't trickle down. The GOP has seemingly mastered leopards eating the faces of voters, over and over again.
But no, I don't blame you for having no filter remaining. If you get to mock people for FAFO in the next 4 years, I'm down with that.
