The Department of Education is involved to some degree in K-12 education is because they are the primary enforcement mechanism for the ADA in schools, which many districts and states would rather not have to comply with for special needs students.Agreed the Federal Government does not need to be involved in high school or college sports other than basic stuff like tax law, safety standards.

They make shockingly large amounts of money from it, that's all. It's all money, top to bottom.The only purpose of high school sport should be to ensure children get some physical exercise. It begins and ends with that. Get 'em running up and down and moving about a bit, that's all that matters, whatever approach works for each individual.
I _hated_ being obliged to go for 'cross country runs' (which meant running around the local streets) at the time, but in retrospect am actually happy they forced me to do it.

I remember about 4th grade after JFK was elected, instead of just chasing each other around aimlessly, or prison dodge during recess, we actually started having planned goals of running 50, 100, 600 yards, calisthenics, tumbling, and oh yea, apparently money for an actual gym teacher. I don't have to agree with everything he's doing to us, but overall he is doing good for America, revealing all the waste and corruption and trimming the fat and just cutting through all the bullshit. Got to respect him for that. The billions of tax dollars being wasted is just insane. I wish we had someone like him here doing the same. Pisses me off every time I see how many billions are spent on immigrants, stupid pet projects, useless bureaucrats, sent overseas etc while there are many people here struggling just to try to make ends meet. I feel bad for the young generation who pretty much don't even have any chance of home ownership anymore.

Right now they're maxing out the propaganda machine and somehow managing to gain in popularity despite carney being just as bad, if worse than Trudeau. Hoping this is just the Kamala effect and will die hard at election time. We need a conservative majority to get out of the mess we're in especially with Trump being president in the states.
