Read about that the other day. I didn't know the guy posted it and got fired, though. Too bad.

Funny story. Indy's most famous restaurant is an old steakhouse called St. Elmo's. Anyway, Manning would go there after almost all the home games. So, the owner made a room in the basement especially for him so he could have some privacy and equipped it with TVs, etc. so that when Manning came, he would sit there, watch the rest of the games, and eat his food. He'd often stay there for hours watching games and drinking Bud Light IIRC.

I just hope he is not doing $900 everyday. I get mad when me and my wife spend more then $20 on a meal.

He must have eaten there when he was at Duke doing rehab. With an 18% gratuity being added, he probably had 8 or more people in his party. I looked at the menu at that place and the prices are roughly in line with a chain like Ruth Chris and maybe a little cheaper.

Not gonna happen. 35 y/o dude with 4 neck surgeries who can't even throw a football months away from training camp.

Err -- what on earth are you talking about? Not only is he throwing it, he is throwing it very well and there is little doubt that he'll be ready to go. They said he is already at about 80% of his old self and improving more every day.

Well, wherever he lands, he'd better have a team around him; otherwise he'll end up looking like a has been very quickly. He's already in his brother's shadow.

Last I heard he couldn't throw past 20 yards. /shrug

The top contenders for him are probably better than the Colts were in 2010 (outside of the QB position, of course). Don't expect his new team to go to the Super Bowl in his first year; there will be a time of adjustment but I'd guess he will get them to the playoffs quickly.

He's already in his brother's shadow.

LOL

Just what we need. Another aging superstar that we over pay for and then we're back in the same spot two to three years down the road. Manning is sure fire hall of fame but I think skins fans have had enough of trying to buy a superbowl (Bruce Smith, Deon Sanders). Our next quarterback better be a draft pick. Besides we have no one to block for Manning and would just end up on injured reserve.

i would be 100% for the skins going after manning, as long as they also draft a late round QB that they can groom and develop behind manning.

but let's be honest ... manning would probably be paralyzed on the first drive in preseason if he was a beloved patriot.

Rumor is that he has already told the Redskins no.

I loved watching him play. He and Brady were just about the only reason I watched NFL games anymore. It was also fun to watch the Niners get into the playoffs, although neither I nor anyone else thought they'd go all the way. But, I digress...

I just don't see why Peyton would want to play against his brother twice a year, maybe 3 times depending on how the playoffs worked out. In the same vein I don't see why he would go to Miami and have to play Brady twice a year. Even with Manning the dolphins aren't near as good as the Patriots. So the dolphins and Manning would probably have to win 10-12 games just to be the wild card. Manning vs. Brady is always fun to watch though.

Yeah, I personally think that the AFC West is where he should go. If he lands with either Denver or KC, that team probably locks up the division for as long as he can reasonably play and with that division generally being pretty weak, maybe even home field advantage in the playoffs.

I completely agree with the playoffs part. I think it will either be an NFC west, or AFC west team. Both weak divisions. And as a Chief's I hope he comes here, and if not I would hate for him to go to Denver and the Chiefs have to play him twice a year.

I think it probably came down to having to work with Shanahan. Manning probably wants more control of the offense than Shanahan would give him.

Actually no, he would want to work with Shanahan actually - but he doesn't want to play his brother twice a season and he also doesn't want to play in that division for the obvious pass rush reasons.

He will go to Miami because there isn't a team who plays in a dome that wants him and he wants to go to. He wants to be where the weather is warm or a dome, people that know him have already said that he is all but for sure going to Miami and bringing Reggie Wayne with him.

I'd be willing to bet serious money on it

He won't come to Denver or KC because their cold weather cities without a dome.

I think you're wrong about Shanahan -- he is a micromanager and Manning probably couldn't tolerate that.

I think he'll end up in Miami in all likelihood, but he does have some interest in Arizona.

Yeh, I don't think he'll go anywhere that doesn't have dome and/or warm. Miami or AZ are what I'm thinking. Miami has a new coach Peyton can train. The defense is fairly stout. They've got Brandon Marshall to throw to. Bush & that rookie RB are servicable when healthy. They are a decently balanced team that just need a few pieces to be very competitive.
