I went and gave it a try with Resogun. I had to turn the PS4 back on, which meant I couldn't resist playing the game on the actual console. After about half a dozen survival attempts, I went to play it through the PlayStation TV. It's definitely still laggy... or as I like to call it, mushy. It was the same feeling as when I played on the 360 with a mouse via the XIM3. Although, I think it was also much more playable.

I didnt get to purchase one today cause the local gamestop didnt even have any yet. They didnt even know what the hell I was talking about when I asked if I could get one.Went in and traded in my copy of Evil Within for nothing.. Guess I will have to make a quick run to the one in Green Bay tomorrow.I would just go to Walmart but I am basically getting one for free with store credit at GS.Was thinking about getting that Killzone game with it. Anyone know if need for speed works with it??

Im thinking about go grabbing one of these today from the local gamestop are there any good games for it??

Remember, this will play any playstation vita, or playstation portable game (thats available on the psn), in theory . Of course, the developers have to patch the games to run on the pstv, so not all games are supported...yet. People have posted links, in this thread, to lists of supported games, so that would be a good place to check.

If you wanted a list of games that will theoretically be available, one day, then just pull up the playstation network, and browse through their list of downloadable vita and psp games for an idea.

I play mostly rpg's, and fighting games myself. So, out of my what I own, and know to be compatible, that I would recommend....

Persona 4 The Golden (vita)
Altelier Totori plus (vita)
Altelier Meruru plus (vita)
Trails of the Blue, Tails of the Sky (I think was the full name)
Fate Extra (psp)

I believe Conception 2 was compatible, but since I've already finished the game, I haven't tried booting it up. Plus, like Fate Extra, it's a rather niche game

I'm fairly certain DOA deminsions is compatible too, but since I have doa 5 ultimate on the ps3, I havent bother trying to run it either.

edit - I guess I should note, the pstv has a place that will run vita cartridges, or games off of the memory card. Of course, it wont take the psp discs, no slot for it. It will play any that's downloaded off the psn, and patched to work, though. Not sure if that was evident from what I what I was saying earlier.

Mushy sounds like what I felt like when using pstv to play Destiny. Guess I'll wait some more before buying it again. Of course I don't think remote play will ever be as smooth as being on the main system.

That mushyness is gone for me with Destiny, before the update yeah moving the mouse left or right in Destiny had like a massive delay plus it feel slippery, that's gone after the update and like I said slight latency almost as if you're playing a PC game with vsync on, it's much more playable and the video is smoother (was also playing FIFA 14, Watch_Dogs, PES 15 demo and Madden 15 on it and all were smooth).

I can't access the router via wired so no test on that for me.

Cool that sounds good. I think I'll pick one up later. Starting Sunday Xbox one is going on sale and I want to pick that up too to have for exclusives.

I tried the update and now remote play is perfectly playable. Doesnt look the best but it runs smooth on the PSTV.

Try high setting under the settings of the ps link app. 2/2 looks like the patch helped with remote play.

I guess I should have said doa5 plus, not dimensions. dimensions was the 3ds version, plus is the vita version.

Also, they finally fixed sao - if to work on the pstv. And, thats one of the 2 games I wanted to play on the big screen, so I'm happy. If they ever get around to neptunia rebirth, that will make everything I want to play on it, compatible.

Just an update, played some Advanced Warfare through the PS TV and it's flawless, as if I was playing at my PS4 with it, I didn't notice any latency which surprised me. Still a touch of latency in Destiny though probably due to deeper graphics density. Now I eagerly await GTA 5 and Planetside 2 to see how they play via the PS TV.

Take note, I said this earlier that I'm using wifi direct to the PS4 rather than wired or wifi to the router, makes a big difference and have it set to high quality stream.

That's good to know. Although I'm skipping on buying one until later. Maybe black Friday or some other time. Trying to get an Xbox 1 this weekend and a few games for now.
Glad that update did something. Means if I wire it I should not have issues like I was having.

As of PS4's 2.02 patch, remote play to the PS TV seems to be unstable and I redid the direct connection and at times connection seems fine and other times it's rather inconsistent. I'm hoping it's just the patch which could get fixed later and not just some form of weak signal that'll occur all the time.

So looks like one patch that fixed it and now the new one borked it lol. It will probably have a separate patch later

Okay guys, I have a question about the PStv: how is it for Vita play? The GF wants to play some Vita games, and it is between this and an actual Vita. Also, what kind of memory cards does it take, and are the Sony Vita branded ones the only that work?

Thanks.

The games that work on the PS TV work great, and I personally prefer to lean back slouching than having to hold the PS Vita screen to my face fatiguing my arms. Controller > PS Vita.

It is essentially a PS Vita so it uses the same game carts and same memory cards. Only difference is, it doesn't play all the games (yet, if ever) and it has a limited option of Apps.

Been playing Conception 2 and have zero issues. Set it to 1080i and looks fine with no image stutter as some have reported.

How about the memory cards? Does it specifically require it to be a PS Vita card, or will a generic SD card work?

They're proprietary cards. You'll need the ones specifically for the Vita.

Yeah, this. I don't think we'll see like the PSP where you could be an adapter to convert an SD to a Sony MS Stick or whatever they were called.

Ugh, that is annoying. How big is the typical Vita game? Would it be wise to just spend the money can get the 64gb card?

Usually ~1-1.5GB, very few exceeds 2GB so the 8GB that comes with the PS TV bundle is plenty for starters, the 64GB one is outrageously expensive.

If you're going to buy physical games, you can just use the internal 1GB of storage to save your games.

With Sony's stupid online prices there is no point to buy digital. I got Conception 2 for $18, online they still want $30 for it.

Pretty much all my Vita games are store bought for a fraction of their online prices.
