They are just trying to scare me...cause the same day they said the FBI had my computer, they also said something about 700 buspasses being printed, and the number is nowhere near that.

Hmmm... I get the impression you don't fully get the potential gravity of the situation.

I wouldn't worry so much about the computer, since the lawyer is gonna cost a lot more.

And blabbing your guts out on a public forum sure ain't gonna help you too much.

I would think that they're trying to scare you. That's the point. If you aren't scared by the FBI knocking on your door, if you aren't scared by the FBI confiscating your computer and if you aren't scared because you know you were doing something illegal, then I don't even know what to say to you anymore.

As for your mother, Celstar is 100% right. It takes a strong, loving parent to discipline your child constructively and appropriately. It takes nothing but weakness to continue enabling you. She may love you unconditionally (as she should) and you may love her, but she's not acting responsibly. Someone has to be the adult, and since it's not you, it should have been her. Sad to see she's not taking that role.

If you get caught there are basically 4 rules:
1. Don't say anything without a lawyer
2. (At least round here) be prepared to pay $1000 for every year of jail time you don't want to do. Be prepared to pay $2000 for every year of jail time you face if you want to do none.
3. Don't give the police or any other law enforcement agency anything else incriminating while you are out on bond.
4. Continue the case as long as possible, and STAY OUT OF TROUBLE WHILE OUT ON BOND!

Presumably you are out on bond. What was your bond? What are you charged with? Felonies or misdemeanors? Bonds are frequently a good measure of how pissed off the DA/judge is at you. Are you in local or federal court? Was there any media coverage?

As a juvie, you really don't have sh!t to worry about.

My roomie got into the NCIC fingerprint database when he was 16, had his door knocked down by the FBI, still has an interpol file as a suspected info-terrorist and he got off with probation. You really don't need to worry about jail time, particularly as a A student with no record.

Also, it's all about the lawyers. When I was 19, I got five nasty felonies with mandatory mins dropped to a 5th deg and had nothing except non-reporting probation on my first offence.

Also, pretty much forget getting your computer back. Even if you are found not-guilty, you will have to get your judge to agree to release any property seized by the cops. Your lawyer can help you out with this.

Other than that, good luck. Legal dilemmas are very psychologically stressful. Sounds like your family is being very supportive. You are lucky. Learn from your mistake and try to either be a better criminal or walk the straight and narrow. Repeat offenders do not get favorabel treatment.

I just broke up a 16 month relationship in November, and that took a lot out of me, and my g/f and I hung out with the same crowd so it caused a giant commotion, and some went on my side and the others on hers, and my life has been snowballing out of control since then. I did have a lot going for me though...

and I'm not planning on getting my pc back, Im going to get a 20+hour a week job and save up about 1k for the fines, then with anything i get after that it will go towards a new system which will not be involved in any illegal activity.

man... i'd like to see how bad these passes looked...

my father always said...
in everything that you do... seek excellence.

man... i studied and mastered photoshop like crazy.
as for printing.. i'm a proud owner of 4 different types of printer.

ink, laser, dot matrix, dye-sub.

you need all four types to get a quality output for all circumstances.

but if i were to pull a fast one...
i would've done something else than some bus passes.

generally, it's not worth the risk.

anyhow... best of luck to you.
i hope you get a slap on the wrist... nothing more.

Criminal Background Check May Soon Be Required For College Admission.

Bloomington, IN. Prospective Indiana University students could be denied admission if they have a criminal record or history of disciplinary problems at another institution, under a proposal for the IU academic handbook.

Under the proposal, all student applicants would be required to disclose whether they have engaged in behavior that results in injury to other people. They must also give the University permission to review criminal records if they exist.

Those with serious problems could be denied admission, or have their access to campus facilities and events limited.

Presently the school is not authorized to deny admission to students on the basis of criminal or social behavior because these matters are not discussed in the academic handbook.

You've got to get both 9 pin and 24 pin dot matrix printers.

The last thing I ever forged was a class schedule in high school (so I could skip class in the school library) using a word processor and the family's old 9 pin Epson RX-80. We had a 24 pin Panasonic at the time, so I needed to dig through the attic for the old printer to get a realistic effect.

What? It isnt already required?? That makes me very very happy, especially since this incident did not harm anyone.

I got a 10 day suspension from school, which i will use sometime to study for the SAT's

I got a 1200 on the PSAT's and think i can get it up to a 1300+ before i take them in a few months.

<< << you do indeed have the right to your PC back >>

Monitor maybe, pc, probably not. When an item is used in the commission of a crime, the person usually does not have the right to have it returned.

WHAT!??!?!? so you mean that murderers DON'T get their guns back?!?!?

Sounds like you learned your lesson (I hope). It was a big mistake and if you learned from it you can save yourself alot of grief in the future. Take your punishment like a man, and if you are a computer junky then you now realize that using your favorite hobby for illegal purposes does have dire consequences. If I were your Mom, I would suspend all of your computer privileges for the next 6mos to a year since the seems to be your biggest concern. You also should get a part time job to pay for any fines, legal fees or any other monetary expenses that your mother should not have to pay for.

Well being that the police were not searching for copyrighted material only material pertaining to the bus passes they won't be able to bust him for any other illegal materials unless they had a specific search warrant to search for that stuff.

Take your licks and move on, hopefully you have at least figured out that you have a lot to lose and you wont do something like this again.

I am willing to bet that most of you have done things that were as bad or worse, I am lucky that I eventually figured out on my own without "getting caught" that breaking the law will ruin your life.

When I was a teenager I hung out with older guys who were always looking for trouble and they found it, I was a minor and got sent home and got the "dissapointed" treatment from my parents, my "friends" got to spend thanksgiving, christmas and new years in jail, that did it for me, the thought of going to jail was enough for me to understand that I had to straighten up, I did just that, now twenty years later five out of eight of those guys are dead, of the other three, one is a drug addict and another is an alcholic and the last guy is a working stiff who sort of got his act together, I have a home and family of my own.

Guess I made the right choice.

<<The guy should get 20yrs in prison, and he's worried about his computer! <<

20 years? Man...was this guy raping children while eating condor eggs and making pipe bombs?

I thought he just made some crappy bus passes.

Seriously though, bus passes? Kinda lame man. And what kinda bus system are they running in PA anyway. Most places I know you gotta have a bus pass with one of them magnetic bar deals. Printing up a fake looking piece of paper won't do jack. Wiierd.

Hey, this is fun. Try it yourself, here's the template:

"HELP! I was caught engaging in [insert monumental act of stupidity here] and the police just seized my [insert personal possession used in the commission of a crime here]. Man that [insert expletive here] cost me a lot of money. Can they do that? Will I get it back when they're done?"

Example:

"HELP! I was caught engaging in making fake credit cards and the police just seized my credit card making equipment. Man that sh-t cost me a lot of money. Can they do that? Will I get it back when they're done?"

Weeee! Stupidity knows no bounds!
