The police took my computer!!! Someone who knows Law please help!

I was linked somehow to some illegal counterfeiting of bus passes, and Im 16.

the police came and took my computer and monitor and printer and scanner etc... as evidence. If you want to know what it is check my system in my sig.

Does anyone know if I'm entitled to get anything back? Anything at all? Please enlighten me.

One of my friends got caught doing something similar.
If you do get it back, it'll take a good long while and it will more than likely be in pieces.
Dont count on getting your hard drive back in one piece if at all.
Guess thats what you get for breaking the law

Counterfeit bus passes? Way to walk on the wild side, tiger. You'll likely just get a slap on the wrist and some community service, maybe a fine. If you have a good enough lawyer you'll get off free.

My thoughts exactly...this isn't a General Hardware issue imo.

Don't expect sympathy (either)...you got what you deserved.

Probably a slap in the wrist, community service, and something in your record (on probation) until you turn 18. Your parents are probably PO'd, so there goes your privileges.

You don't want to put anything like this on a public forum. Anything you say can be used against you.
Most lawyers will give you the first call for free.

Your computer is probably admissable as evidence. If you did something illegal using your comp, I wouldn't count on getting it back.

They could even bar you from using a home computer until you are 18...that's a common remedy for juveniles that are caught producing fake IDs.

Actually, I've been to many police auctions and they are nothing but big rip-offs in their own right. Old antiquated systems selling for 2-3x more than what a comparable system on ebay would go for.

My family isnt even PO'ed at me, my mom is really cool and already offered to advance my xmas money to build a new pc but i declined.

I wasnt expecting sympathy, i just wanted to know if i would ever see my system again.
