I can remember (not too long ago), there was a massive price war on milk. Tom Thumb (Randall's), Albertsons, Kroger, HEB, etc started selling milk at $1.19, then $1.09.
One store went to $0.89, and Kroger hit $0.69 before it was all over. Strangly, it was only on the gallon milks, the half gallon was still $1.00+.
Wtf. Milk for $0.69 a gallon?! Water was $1.00 to $2.00 at the time.
--------------
Another thing that bothers me. Mustard comes in big glass jars, and tiny glass jars. About 50% of the time I go to the store to buy mustard, the small jar is more expensive.
The same is true with those new 6 oz or 8 oz Cokes. They are more per can than traditional 12 oz drinks?! What are you paying them for?
--------------
Supply and Demand my ass.
