Yep only the people with no money are the ones saying that money doesn't buy happiness. Money makes your life more comfortable and allows you to do things that you couldn't do with less money.

The OP could have done this with our without money. He's just trying to make himself feel better.

Making less money makes you STRESS MORE cus you have to worry about bills and your life. Making more money allows you much freedom and relaxes you cus you don't have to worry about what you need to cut this month to pay rent.

We have plenty of money and definitely do not think it buys happiness. It does quite the opposite actually. Stressing about bills and life is only at poverty, otherwise you are living beyond your means which is your own fault. There is no stress in the typical situation other than what is self induced. People just aren't willing to cancel all of their outrageous and stupid bills. We save my wife's entire paychecks so we could easily afford cable but we choose to do the things the OP is suggesting instead - spending more time with people instead of the TV and making better decisions.

You can say he's justifying...it doesn't really matter either way because he's still right.

And you couldn't do that with money??? The stuff the OP did does not take a poor person to do.

I don't know.. if you look at the generation that went through the great depression I bet they learned a thing or two about enjoying more with less.

Our economy is sick, we have an epidemic, most have felt the headaches and dizziness of less income than they are accustom to having or at least know someone personally who is suffering these symptoms if not more serious ones due to finances.

Of course none of the benefits that come from having less cash are dependant upon having less cash, it is just that having enough money to keep us comfortable can make us too lazy to face the discomforts the rest of the world might be having and a big disconnect follows.

So another positive is that by having less money I am connecting with some of my communinity that I did not seem to have the time for when the business was booming and there is a gift in that.

I?m just saying that I am noticing that there are good things happening related to the exact same circumstances that are causing the problems and I wanted to focus on them so that the other less pleasant symptoms don?t take over my day. It has always seemed to me that what I give more attention to, I get more of?.
