The Pyro in TF2

Finally some new info.

New Pyro weapon. Axtinguisher. It does half damage to normal enemies, but when they are on fire, it always does critical damage. Seems awesome for a good ol one two punch.

Also



"Along with all of the new content, we're also going to be making some significant changes to the Pyro class for everyone, regardless of whether they have unlocked any new items."

"Meet the Sniper" Will come out with next patch

Nice, can't wait, the Pyro is my second favorite class, and Meet the Sniper movie shall be quite interesting, I hope they put a kangaroo in it

Awesome. Pyro is my chosen class. Hopefully they'll unnerf it a bit and make it so Soldiers/Demos get -1 point for blowing themselves (and me :|)up after I nearly flame them to death.

man i HATE being robbed like that

I used to do that when on fast respawn servers to get back into the reinforcement queue faster, it had nothing to do with robbing the pyro of their kill. But I was guilted into stopping that practice, even if it means I run around on fire for a bit before crumpling into a crispy pile.

Ya, I too was 'guilted' into stopping that. It does suck though when you burn to death 5 feet from the health/ammo box in the spawn room.

I'm really starting to love pyro though. Even if I don't get the kill/assist, it's hillarious throwing an entire team off balance cause you set them all on fire.

Oh, and on a side note, they have to nerf the sniper. Some people on my regular server are starting to get way too many instant kills. A few high ping players are somehow managing to always make impossible, mid-air headshots on people running/jumping out of a corner. You may call me a bitcher, but when half the server is suspicious, and those few players always get double or triple the second highest score on their team, something is up. That and these same players are merely average once they don't play sniper.

Nice, thx for the info. But the pyro is nothing without the medic which is my favorite class.. definitely more lethal

I don't know... I spend 2x the time being a sniper over my next class, and I often lead the score board by a good margin on pub servers when I'm playing well and have a decent team to keep spies off my back. My ping is usually 10-40ms depending on server location, however.


OP was very misleading. I thought Valve had already released the new pryo achievements when I saw the title

Pyro is my favorite class! Even without medic.

And as a medic, my favorite one to uber is a Pyro ;p

It's probably going to be quite hard to catch someone on fire then catch up to them and pull out your axe then hack at them without them or anyone else shooting you until death, but it's a cool idea. I want the pyro achievements though, now that i'm done with medic achievements. Achievements are really the only thing keeping me interested in the game... and new weapons.

I just realzied what the Pyro Needs, a Jetpack, just like The Fury. Then they have to give him an awesome taunt that sounds like a muffled "YOU WILL FEEL THE FURY OF MY FLAMES" That would make Pyro even better. No more range problem/

One well placed sentry can turn the tide for sure.

And plus the engie wrench has like a 20% chance of critical hit just on it's own

to be fair, anything can turn the tide of the game

1) a last minute uber charge at the CP.
2) a sniper headshot at the medic who is about to use an uber charge for a last minute capture
3) a spy backstab at the sniper who is about to headshot the medic
4) a demo who planted stickies around the CP and patiently waited to denote them once the uber is up (that happen to me once, I was like, I am teh win 4 sure... oh wait... ME NOOB!!!!)

5) one pyro can literally push a whole team of noobs back to their spawning point to prevent them from saving the CP. (Again, happened to me once, I was just hiding in the spawn point as we lost the game. No one was out there to defend the CP)
6) scout, rush, capture.

the only ones who I take for granted are soldier and heavy; they are the "bread-and-butter" essentials... save the last minute clutch shot for the other class.
