What I find amazing is how much attention the nation pays to a junior congresswoman who has no real power.

Personally I think it’s a testament to the power of conservatives to shape the media narrative but I think they are making a catastrophic mistake.

People like what she stands for. Giving her more attention just makes her stronger. Silly conservatives, you should have ignored her like you ignored Bernie.

She is on the House Oversight Committee and questioned Cohen today.
I mostly watch Reuters for my news source, which they gave cuts to people questioning Cohen - None of the ones shown were from AoC, so I guess I'll have to look at it more in full to see what amazing bits she had.

CNN has put up on Youtube different clips from the different Congress Critters, I was just there and I saw that they had AOC's up.

OK lets take the low end 51Trillion over 10 years. At current levels, the IRS will take in 33.33 Trillion in 10 years. Wheres the extra 18Trillion going to come from?
$30T is healthcare for all isn’t it? Which would actually cost 2-5T less than what would be spent otherwise under the current health care system and cover everyone.

That “study” was about producing a big scary number instead of actually trying to discuss the merits or compare the costs in it compared to doing nothing.

Why bother trying with him? He has already decided he knows more than the people that conducted the Koch brother funded investigation into the cost-benefit of Medicare for All and concluded what we have all known for the past 20+ years.

Read the fucking link I posted asshat. Its detailed. If you have a problem with it, I look forward to your detailed analysis in detail.

You seem to think that IRS revenue is the only thing that is going to pay for any of these expenditures, where did you get that idea? Did you realize that if we invest in renewable Fuels and Low Carbon electric grids people are still going to have to pay their electrical bills. If we take what we pay for all health care related expenses currently that would likely cover the estimated 3.6 trillion in costs without any "net new" expenses.

If you think 6 line items covering a total of 91 Trillion dollars is "detailed" it's probably not even worth engaging in a conversation with you.

He also projects IRS revenue as remaining stagnant over a 10 year period.

It's not about it being amazing. It's about her being especially capable. She asked specific questions and opened the door to getting at Trump's taxes.

For the earlier poster to talk about all of her inability and such, she proves that idea wrong almost daily.

I didn't realize that asking interrogation based questions during an interrogation of 20+ people vs 1 was an amazing feet.

I guess at this point we've really lowered the standards.

The IRS collected 3.3 Trillion from all sources in 2016. Tell us how AOC's 93 Trillion over 10 years will be paid for.

93 tillrion isn't even a real number.

anyway, it's still funny that you think, 40 years later, the billionaires are giving you all the money that they were gifted out of your pocket back...for some reason.

it's funny that you think that.

wait, no it isn't. It's fucking infuriating. because it effects me and everyone else. FUCK YOU, you fucking asshole dickshit.

Has AOC ever said that she has a plan other than the bullet points she produced? That's what I'm waiting for.
I think the 9.3 trillion a year number is every bit as nebulous as the outline.

93 trillion? why is that a number?

make it real. Until then, this is just fucking horseshit.

(pro tip--please don't waste your time--that number is utter bullshit. math says so. not me. math)

Yup, you have, haven't you? At least you've realised that much, so that's progress.

(I assume by 'we' in that last sentence you mean 'we Conservatives'?)

Imagine if the democrats (as well as primary republicans) paid attention to Trump early on the same way Republicans pay attention to this junior congresswoman instead of treating him as a joke candidate where we would be today.

Uhmmm, the outsized attention paid to trump is probably exactly why we are where we are.

I just listened to AOCs questioning of Cohen at the hearing. For being a big dummy like you righties allege, she sounds 10x as articulate as Trump

It's like she (once again) used her 5 mins to ask clear, concise, well thought out questions on the topic at hand without emotion or subjectivity. Meanwhile, most of the GOP (once again) took their 5 mins to talk about feelings, their conjuncture and their subjectivity.

I can never figure out how conservatives square their view of themselves as tough minded realists with the fact that in reality basically everything they do is a whining fantasy about how picked on they are.

In fact, that's exactly how some conservatives on this board frame it. Essentially blaming democrats and liberal media for legitimizing trump by focusing on him. Starbuck even lays the blame on Hilarys campaign for Trumps win.
