"Trump wasn't hurting people 'who needed hurting' enough"
I heard this yesterday on MSNBC, but what I heard wasn't anecdotal as this linked article seems to report.
The news seemed to be that a survey had been conducted from the time Trump became president, and that some significant number of MAGA supporters didn't think Trump was hurting people enough.
MSNBC is quickly dismissed by Trumpers as a left-wing propaganda channel. Some of them (also in my family) think that MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, PBS etc. are "controlled by the government." They therefore choose to watch FOX and OAN exclusively, which are also "controlled by the government" or by the FCC, just like the rest. In my opinion, there's not enough "control". Why do I say this?
Since 2004, I would visit FOX to see "what they were up to", and I identified at least five occasions where one could only infer and conclude that they engaged in serious deception that was deliberate -- contrary to any practice of professional objective journalism. This followed a long tradition over two generations of the Murdoch family, beginning with Murdoch's Australian newspaper lying about British command of Australian troops at Gallipoli, propelling the Aussies to withdraw from World War I. What I found on FOX was never reported by the "Lame-stream gov'mint-controlled" media: they were too busy reporting on other nonsense that FOX promulgated, and they probably didn't know the particular facts supporting my own conclusion about those incidents.
As one more recent example, when the BLM movement was much in the news with the murders of Blacks by police officers, a morning FOX newscaster reported that "51 Blacks had been shot and killed by police, while 52 Whites had been similarly dispatched" in the same year -- so there must not be a problem. An identical statement might be "1,000 smokers died of cancer [in a particular year], while 1,005 non-smokers died of cancer in the same period", so there must not be a problem with smoking. DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THOSE NUMBERS TO SHOW THAT BLACKS WERE 4 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO BE SHOT BY POLICE THAN WHITES?! if I do -- a line from "Dances With Wolves": "Wah-shi-chu! Ni-ash-ni-ya! Di-ai-a-o!" "White man! you don't belong here! Go away from here!" Either you missed the education otherwise available in your schooling through high-school, or you are dumber than a sack of rocks.
Just with this example, we must observe that 21st century news media are sufficiently staffed to prevent the broadcast of this duplicity. It shows that FOX believes their audience to be stupid enough to fall for it. In responses I personally obtained from Trump-leaning FOX watchers, they jumped the tracks so to speak, attempting to argue WHY Blacks would otherwise be shot by police as opposed to Whites. You see, it doesn't matter what the appropriate numbers prove, already showing that Blacks are 4 times more likely to be killed. It matters as to whether or not FOX was presenting the news with sufficient facts to be accurate, or whether or not they were deliberately attempting to deceive their audience. But since the audience cannot accommodate a possibility that FOX deceives because it presents a viewpoint that they favor, they completely miss the point, they embrace an unreliable source of news and information -- regardless the OPINION that FOX provides in analyzing those facts.
So Trumpers attempt to tell me their "what-about-ism" view of my personal news choices. They watch FOX, and I watch MSNBC because I'm a Leftist-Liberal whose mind is controlled by media controlled by the gov'mint. But I've proven TO MYSELF and anyone who''ll listen: FOX isn't worth my time if they engage in deliberate deception.
We need to find out more about any "survey" that suggests a significant number in Trump's BASE wanted Trump to HURT other Americans. It runs in parallel to their desire of turning termites loose in our institutions to destroy them -- for instance -- to abolish the NOAA because they don't like the agency's recognition of human-caused climate change as a threat and a problem.
How does this all make me feel? If they want a Civil War, we should give it to 'em. "Give 'em the double-cannister, Boys!" The Blues should finish it without Lincoln's mercy this time. There should be Permanent Military Reconstruction! "Oh, the Lib'rals wanna take away our FREEE--DOMS!" They don't deserve any "freedom" if they want to hurt people, abolish the Constitution, elect a life-time habitual criminal, and destroy our institutions.
Do you want me to explain the Deep-State Myth? I can do that to . . . But I've been burned out after the inauguration of 2017 and the outrages that have followed, and my fingers are fatigued working at my gaming keyboard. Stockpile an AR-15 and a pump-action shotgun, I say! Get yourself a Glock 9! They've been itching for a chance on their own since McVeigh blew up the Murrah Building, killing women and children.
Use the Space Force! Deport them to their Galaxy of Origin!
