For fucks sake. Anyone remember when the Secret Service could keep secrets, and Navy SEALS didn't get book deals about secret operations?

Yeah, those were dark times. I'm glad they are gone. Power shouldn't enable you to side-skirt accountability.

Please state why it is obvious.

She inherited a wide array of problems from the previous administration, yes.

She managed to build a team cohesive enough to not make any of the problems worse.

I don't see any real standouts in her tenure, unless you count "not making things worse" a standout (which in all honesty could be argued depending on the extent of the problems she inherited and how other parts of the system worked for or against her).

What did she accomplish that could be considered a great example of leadership and teamwork? Stuff that could only realistically be accomplished with a good team behind it? Visiting more countries than any other past SoS would not qualify, for example.

Goalpost shift, huh?

From building a cohesive team to "greatness".

How is it a goalpost shift? Cohesive teams lead to good results. What are her good results? Unless you get actual accounts from her teammates about their working conditions, the results of team-dependent projects are the next best metric to determining how she is as a team lead.

That opinion piece linked above is mirrored by just as many other pieces written by other people saying that she did an admirable, but average job.

Good results? Who decides that? You? It certainly sounds like you are moving the goal posts to me or did you not originally ask what she had accomplished?

Let's wheel back to basics.

What are we debating?

What are the arguments?

What is the supporting evidence for those arguments?

These kinds of stories, timed as they are in an election cycle, always make me question the intentions of the author. And, as I've said before, the political use of the Secret Service/Air Force One/Military by the right is nothing new. Since getting reliable internet service in the early 90's I've received hundreds of unsolicited emails of a political nature and 100% of them, every single one, has been from the right attacking the left. And, to the point, there have been several of these emails purporting to come from the crew of Air Force One.

The emails went along the lines of ... President Clinton was rude to the crew of Air Force One and to all members of the military. A later one indicated how respectful President Bush was to the crew of Air Force One and to all military members. The last one along these lines once again indicated how rude and disrespectful Obama is to the crew of Air Force One and to the military.

This story from the Secret Service smells a lot like the ones I've heard about Air Force One so my bullshit detector is buzzing big time. OTH, I have relatives in Northern Ireland that worked in the big hotel President Clinton stayed in while they were in NI and the word I got from them was that Hillary was a scary b-auch.

So, I'm not sure where the truth lies here but for other reasons I have no intention of voting for Hillary.

Just yesterday I asked a Senate staffer friend of mine, who also happens to be liberal, if this article could be true. Based on her experience actually working in the same halls and rooms as Hillary and the experience of her colleagues, yes.

She even initially denounced the origin of this article (the NY Post) as not being that reliable, but still conceded that the impression of her in the article mirrors her impression in real life, not just in regards to the SS and Military, but to everyone in general such that if you were working for her and on her side, you were still "walking on eggshells" around her, which is the impression both her and others working in the Senate had.

So, take this information for what it's worth.

I personally would love to see a female president.

I do not want a conservative in office and my views align FAR closer to Hillary's than any of the Reblicans.

But I nonetheless don't agree with Hillary's stance on certain things where she actually *has* a stance. She is wishy washy on other stances I have.

These insights into her actions as a team lead give me further pause.

Um, the point of Secret Service keeping its collective mouth shut is not to allow side-skirting accountability. It's to prevent charges from hiding some activities and thus increasing their vulnerability. It's also worth pointing out that none of this activity has any official accountability whatsoever, only potential political fallout. (Not for Hillary, obviously, whose faithful actually want her to be as horrendous a person as is possible to better punish those they hate, but in general, politicians seen to be ass hats get less support.) So Secret Service remaining mum on which politicians were respectful and nice and which were assholes doesn't affect accountability.

What a bunch of BULL...
But too bad this isn't true.
This would show Hillary a strong person and aggressive.
The very traits men get high praise for, never women, but men.
I WANT A PRESIDENT THAT TELLS PEOPLE TO F@@K OFF !!!!!!

This HAS ALWAYS been Obama's problem.
The republicans shit all over him, and he just smiles and sings Kum Ba Ya.

That's like saying you want the same qualities in a baker as you do in pilot.

The way sportage thinks -

Sorry, after starting that sentence I realize there is no possible way to finish it in any logical manner.

Nice timing on the book... I notice that the quote is pretty much supposed to kill support for her from the military and law enforcement right before the election. I'm sure that someone with money thought this would be a great story to feed a new narrative right before the election primaries. Too bad it's a wasted effort as most law enforcement and military vote winger anyway, so their anger won't hurt her support much if at all. The only people who will eat this up already don't like (or really hate) her, so all I see it doing is sucking money out of the pockets of wingnuts to feed the writer and publisher.

This book makes a poor hatchet, the author should have bought a real one.

This is for people who don't like her but might not be motivated to vote for one of the R candidates. Do you want to let someone who HATES YOU be president?
There isn't much to like on the GOP side.

How can it be difficult to accept that Hilary is a nasty, pretentious bitch?

Just pretend she represents the opposing party, should do the trick for most of the braindead hoping to change the USA with their vote.

Republicans will believe anything about Hillary. It sells books to dupes, so someone will consequently write some stuff for morons to read and believe. Obviously a trustworthy Secret Service agent would not be writing about people whose privacy he is entrusted with.
